This was the first day in several that I was not so bundled up that I could almost swing freely and I took advantage of the opportunity to hit the course range before hitting the first tee. I was looking for my lost iron groove. I can almost hit driver coming out of the parking lot but must get a practice session in now and again in order to keep some sort of a groove going with the irons.
Regardless of how much performance apparel I own, on some days I still end up so bundled up that my turn ends where my clothing is so twisted around me that I can’t turn anymore whether I want to or not. Within a few holes of starting to play the round it got markedly colder and I was back to Mr. Nahnook of the North. However even just getting in a few holes of “normal” golf was very reassuring. Playing is better than not playing regardless of the circumstances but you can play enough of these winter rounds for you game to really end up getting buried under the cold and all of this clothing, particularly since practice sessions are hard to come by at this point. Anybody else finding it difficult to maintain some semblance of a game with the cold and being bundled up round after round? |
