Default Range Target Driving - (Series of awesome shots)
Just thought I'd share this with you guys as I couldn't quite believe it earlier (neither could me mates)...

Anyway, me and 2 friends went down the range. I was testing out my new clubs, one of which was my re-shafted R9 Super Tri. I was pretty pleased with how I was swinging all session (both Irons and Driver), and I had about 5-6 balls left when my mates had finished their balls. So I said to them "give me some targets".

Shot 1: My housemate chirped up "hit that magpie on the fence at the end of the range", now I knew it was out of my range (240yds at top of 30ft fence) so I said I'd give it a go. I managed to hit a dead straight drive right online, I was stoked, it took a couple bounces then rolled into the fence. Which turned out to be enough to make the bird fly off.

Shot 2: Mate number 2 then piped up "I want to see a high fade, starting to the left of some flags then finishing right towards that marker". So I lined up and tried it. I struck it sweetly, achieved the perfect high fade, unfortunately I started it at the flags rather than to the left. But all in all I'd have finished only 5-10 yds right of the target, again I was well happy with the result.

Shot 3: Housemate says "hit that 250 board at the back", quickly mate #2 says "...with a draw". I'm thinking "jeez, I got no hope of that, but may as well try" as I rarely hit it 240+. So I take aim 30yds right of the board, strike the ball focusing on getting the draw rather than the distance. Now I was just happy to hit the draw, I turned to my mate and said "how's that?! ", only to re-turn my head at the target in time to hear (and see) my ball crack into the 250 board with a satisfying "thud" , I did a quick victory dance. Genuinely haven't every hit a sweeter drive.

Shot 4: Housemate says jokingly "meh, that's nothing. I'd be impressed if you do it again". So I line up, hit it...start in on the exact line...unfortunately realise it won't have enough draw. But it still went 250+ and ended up 10yds right of the board.

I then just cracked my final balls down the range to finish off.

Anyway, I was (and still am) so happy with my swings. I've never had such control and even had the attention of a few random guys down the range looking over at me open mouthed Such a great feeling. Which is good as I've got a competition tomorrow with £600 prize money...here's hoping I can perform in the same way!!

Great story Daz, I couldn't call my shots that well. How did the tournament go today?
