I have returned to Atlanta and must say THANKS to JB and GolferGal who were awesome hosts and put together a truly memorable weekend for everyone who was fortunate enough to make it there. I say fortunate enough because you will see from the posts that I know already will be put on here the fantastic time every had. I know everyone cant make these events, but those of us who did know how enjoyable it really was.
For me, I have to say I have never been on a "buddy" golf trip, but I would imagine it would leave you with the feeling I had last night of....This is ending way too soon. That is probably the best way to describe the weekend. Unfortunately, I had to leave today because bad weather was moving in and I needed to catch an earlier flight and I couldnt risk not getting for tomorrow morning. As I mentioned, JB and Morgan were the consumate hosts and planned a weekend hackers only dream about. Meeting everyone at their home and going to the demo day, then lunch, and playing a round with some great people really gave everyone a very confortable feeling. I was paired with and got to know Smallville, AdWillingham and Hawk308. We were all had similar type games, some better at one thing than others. The exception was AdWillingham, he showed the three of us how to break down a golf course and how to place a ball near the hole from just about anywhere on the course. The guy has GAME! Smallville was just killer off the tee and matched AW off nearly every box. Hawk, well he was hitting some great approach shots once he started using his "day-glo" pink golf ball. He will have to tell you the story behind that one. Ask him how he was able to find a pink ball when it was buried in a snake hole. I enjoyed meeting tcalloway1 and our conversation on the mfgp with Biggsy and and everyone else around the table was hilarious. Ask SethO about his photo finish. That make make the rounds at some point. The demo of the clubs was outstanding and I felt like I was at the PGA Superstore. There had to be several hundred different types of golf clubs there for us to try. Many gravitated towards the drivers which JB and GG even had interchangable shafts for those so inclined. I bet we had 100 putters to try out from mallets to answer to winged shaped devices I had never seen. The varitey was something to see. One of the many highlights was the gift bags preapred by GG that contained so many nice presents that we could not stop thanking them for. When you stood back and really took it all in, you realize how remarkable this was feat was to pull off. The evening was topped off by a our hosts again inviting us into their wonderful home for dinner. Much love to Thanks1974 for his master of the grill skills. The way he flipped the burgers you could tell he must have a smooth release with a glof club. Being able to sit down with those on the post and get to know them personally was probably the best part of the event for me. It is amazing how quickly you can get to know someone and feel like you have known them a long time. That is how I felt with everyone there...just good people with no phony pretenses who all seemed to be enjoying the same thing I was ....just talking all things golf. Now a bit on our hosts. I want to personally and publically thank JB and Golfer Gal for their hospitality and creating an opportunity for us to get together. Many see and read what you do for THP, but meeting you is something else...the warmth and compassion you had for each and every THP'er there was special. I hope every THP'er gets to experience your love, compassion, and sense of humor in person at some point. It takes someone with a great heart to open yourselves and your home in the manner you did. JB was right when he said we would all see just how special Morgan really is and just how lucky he is that she said YES! But what I saw firsthand was how lucky we (THP) are to have them both. Many blessings to them and to THP! |

Keith,
that was just beautiful! We feel just as fortunate to have had the pleasure of meeting you in person. You are an amazing person and we sincerely look forward to being able to hang out again. We were so sad you had to leave early but totally understood the weather was not in our favor today. Thank you for being a part of THP and making it to this awesome outing. We had such a blast and I plan to make a post later to just explaining how wonderful you all are. |

I just got home as well and want to echo all the sentiments Keith mentioned above.
I will honestly say that I had no idea what to expect from this get together. Even as late as the way down there, I was thinking "What am I doing? I'm driving 650 miles each way to meet a bunch of internet people." Those qualms were gone shortly after arriving at dinner on Friday. It was truly a pleasure to meet everyone this weekend. I had more fun than I could have possibly imagined this weekend being. Thanks to JB and GG one more time for allowing us into their home and arranging everything. You guys are terrific. Please also pass my thanks on to your contacts at the companies that shipped all the great equipment and allowed us to use and abuse it at will. By the end of yesterday, I felt like I had played 54 holes...and I tried to pace myself during the demo session. |

Keith, I'd share a cart with you any day man. You're a funny guy (with a serious Seemore addiction) and that made for a great round.
As for the Pink Chromax, I'm going to pick up some more of those bad-boys. As you put it, I couldn't lose one if I wanted to. Just think of what I could have shot if I used it all day. I'm throwing ego out the window baby! Oh, and I was serious when I said you can post that picture ![]() |

i can't really add anything that's already been said by the fellas above. this opportunity was fantastic. i only wish that i could've played with all of you guys, and i think that i will one day. i'm flat nackered and will be adding some of my thoughts/impressions in the upcoming days.
JB, GG, and Ellie were the best hosts imaginable. honestly, meeting JB had me a bit intimidated (c'mon, you know you would be too, afterall, he's the big man on campus here) but he was open to answering all of my stupid questions and was like a mad man running around the range, swapping out shafts, explaining features and benefits of everything. the guy simply loves this game, the equipment and especially the fashion side of it. his closet is bigger than the picture does justice!!!! GG is the sweetest person you'll ever meet. she greeted everyone with a warm smile, had hot coffee and fresh bagels waiting for us, and was just a pleasure to talk to. all the manufacturers that participated in the demo day are all champions in my eyes. it was the coolest thing being able to see all the guys just grab and hit. it's the closest thing i'll ever experience to being on tour, haha!! i was only able to play on saturday and i played with biggsy and chuck. those two have game ya'll and were a blast to play a round of golf with. we had our ups and downs but what was the best was that we were all rooting for each other. i predict that biggsy purchases the burner superfast any day now (no joke, the guy was driving the ball 300+ easy), chuck buys the VR driver b/c he's up the gut all day, and that kevin will buy whatever comes out next (sorry buddy, couldn't help it) i spent some late nights with thanks1974, kevin, spank818, and setho, and i would share many more with them in the future. i learned a lot about all of these guys and all of them are freakin' hilarious. i could say so much more but it'll all be revealed soon enough. keith, you're hilarious man, and thanks for clearing up the mfgp thing for me, osahar might know more about golf equipment than anyone i know, adwillingham is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. i enjoyed talking about parenthood and the masters with you and i look forward to teeing it up in georgia with you one day. hawk, you're just a flat out riot bro. you and your wife are both great people and hopefully we'll share a beverage together again soon. smalls, it was an absolute pleasure meeting you. you're a legend here and i enjoyed talking about sports and all those fabulous meals you eat. sunday_hacker and the boys, you guys just rock!! i don't know anyone who might have a better time on the course than you guys. thanks again to everyone for shaking my hand, sharing a laugh, i can't wait to do it again. i'm tired!!!! |

Well said everyone. It was fun hanging out with you guys and gals. All I can say is let's not wait too long to see each other again... hint, hint. I'm glad you shamed me into borrowing a driver. I hit the ft-iz pretty well and as you said, what fun is teeing off with a 3 wood? |

i believe that picture was on the tee box at #2. that golf course was beautiful. it had fairways for days, and it wasn't too crowded with houses
![]() if anyone is ever in the venice, fl area i would recommend the golf course. the staff was more than happy to accomodate all of us hogging the range and range balls. |
