Default Too much golf?????
How much is too much, that is the question. I was able to play the equivalent of 5 rounds of golf in three days last week. My wife thought I should ask you all if I'm playing too much, as if that is possible.

I am in the minority here probably that says that may be too much. But that is only for me. I would say that if you still felt good and were having fun then it is never too much. My body most likely would not hold up.

I felt great outside of a blister that developed on my ring finger on my left hand. Actually shot the lowest round of the year on Thursday with Smallville. (Last round of the week)

Do you wear your wedding band MO? I do under my glove and it never bothers me. However with the tons of humidity we have had, I got that same thing recently.

My body can't take it anymore. Once or twice a week is about all that I can handle.

There are times I have golfed that much, but then I tend to get burned out & won't play for a week. I vote that it's perfect but also depends on how well you are playing.

I do not think my body would handle playing 5 rounds in 3 days. I am sure something would start to hurt! Back, shoulder, hands, elbow, feet...

I do not wear any rings playing golf, either. They push down into my skin causing pain and I do not want the rings to get smashed (into an oval vs circle shape).

My husband keeps his wedding ring on all the time, including golf. It is the only piece of jewelry he wears. Now he has lost a couple rings due to wearing them all the time. lol

I play one round a week and go to the range about 3 times a week. That's all I can handle. Wedding ring...I shucked that yoke off 5 years ago. Ha!

I think to truly understand, appreciate what the professional golfer has to endure, especially the better ones, a higher hdcp golfer should walk 4 rounds of golf in 4 days. Maybe even throw in a little practice before, and after each round. I have done this a few times, and by the end of the 3rd round, I am pretty much done. Not physically done, but just mentally tired to the point of losing interest. But I have to say, that the lower scoring rounds of the 4, are usually the 2nd, and 4th rounds.

ProV,
If I play well, do I get the same purse they do at the end?

I play 5 rounds in 3 days once a year, every year. Sometimes it is too much, but most of the time it is just right or not enough. Sometimes you don't feel good at all on the last day, this year I could have played another 18. I don't get to play much at all so I really enjoy it when that weekend comes.

I would like to try and do a 1-2-1-2-1-2 until I could not go anymore...Just to see what my limit is...
2 years ago, I was a forum member somewhere else and I played all that was offered...
I believe it was a 7 hour drive and then 18 on the same day (Thursday)
36 each on Friday and Saturday
18 on Sunday and a 7 hour drive home....
Each night I got abouit 4 hours of sleep and consumed too many margaritas to count

I was ready for more....but then again, I am 44 yrs old with a 5-1/2 yr old so I need to stay in shape which I try to do.....

When my body tells me that enough it enough, then I will dial it back..
Until then, I can never get enough..

No I don't wear a wedding band ever. I never have as I always worked construction and wasn't too keen on ripping a finger off. It doesn't seem to bother my wife that I don't wear it, I will dig it out if we are going to a special occasion.

EDIT: As for Provisionals post, if I had somebody else to carry my bag around I don't think it would be too difficult to play 4 rounds in 4 days. Dragging the Revolver around on a pull cart will drain the life out of me though, same for carrying the OGIO.

As far as physical limitations, I'd say that is prob a little too much, as far as mentally and knowing your out playing golf is a great thing, so I'd say its perfect.

I voted "too much", but that is only for me right now. When I started playing 8 yrs ago, I would often go to the course at 6:30 in the morning and walk the course all day until 6 in the evening. I was fine with that. Now, that would be too much for me and my game would deteriorate because of fatigue.

I play an average of 3 times per week and recently have played 36 in a day, but 5 in 3 days except for special occasions would be too much for me.

I can manage 18 holes for two days in a row. After that, the mental fatigue takes over.

As for rings, Hubby has his choice: on his finger, or through his nose.

Well..too much golf is when your body finally can't take anymore.

Today I went in 97 degree heat, and If I had to rate my energy level from 1-100% at hole 18...I'd say around 3-4%. I didn't even want to swing anymore. Oh, and I hurt my collarbone too. :\

But if the weather was cooler...I'd probably play 36 any given day.
