Default Golf Course Habits/Vices
Someone asked me about this during my round today and I wanted to put the question to my friends here. What are your vices during the round? Do you lie and cheat? Do you drink like crazy? Smoke? You get the drift.

We are talking about things you do on the course that you would normally not do elsewhere.

I don't think there is anything I do on the course that I don't do in my daily life. I usually cuss like a sailor daily. I don't drink excessively on the course or at home. I guess my habit/vice is talking to myself. I don't usually talk to myself in my day to day life but I will talk to myself while I'm on the course. When you're by yourself someone has to compliment your nice shot right.

Well, thanks to you...

My vice is playing dress up to go play golf.

I smoke and cuss even when it's not appropriate off the course, I'm just better dressed when I do it on the links.

I can't really think of any that are just course-related. Everything I do on course I do off course, from the occasional swearing to the clothing.

Really good question Josh....
I was going to say my temper....but that is about the same
I was going to say drinking....but that is about the same
I dont smoke on either....so that is about the same (itching to try a cigar again though and home is definately NOT the place for that)
I am a jokester at both....so that is about the same

I guess if I really had to say the big difference between on the course and off.....Winding down...I have/create a hectic life for myself both at work and home just by nature...I am getting better at the "habit" of winding down at the golf course....Game usually shows this as well....

I would say peeing in the bushes, but I do that at home sometimes too.
I will drink a soda sometimes when Im golfing and I rarely drink one anywhere else.

There is nothing I do on the course that I don't do in real life.I respect the game and course I'm on. Don't drink, smoke,I throw trash in trash bin,if I drive cart,I stay on cart path as much as possible, replace divots, pitch marks on green and don't throw clubs. I leave the course As I found it or leave it in better condition.

I think I have probably been guilty of just about everything but rape, murder, pillaging, and introducing pestilence on to the golf course at one time or another. One guy accused me of being a robber, but he's the one who missed the putt, not me. Of course all those misadventures happened when I was younger, and had all the answers.

Since I am now older, and wiser, my only vice is to smuggle in Diet Dr. Pepper, and sugar free lemon ice tea. The other day I took my own peanut butter, and jelly sandwich in. I mean I have this bag that advertises an insulated compartment that is designed to keep things cooler, or warmer. I figure I might as well use it. When the score is important, I don't manipulate my shots in anyway. What ever the number is, will be what it is. What you see on the golf course is what you would see in my private life.

Amen sister! If you hit a bad shank and your first reaction is "F---!" then fine, but I hate Oscar the Grouches on the course. They ruin a nice afternoon.

Of course. I'm just more successful on the golf course.

I can't think of any vices I have on the course that I don't display in the lesser important parts of my life.... I like to think of golf as my life and everything in between as filler like those little bits of information at the end of newspaper columns.

To be honest - I'm more easy going on the course than any place else. Nothing bothers me there except when someone refuses to yield my fairway. They should ask first, but that's another topic.

Same here, I always bring 4 or 5 cigars, smoke 2 and gift the rest to my playing partners.

I don't think I'm much different on the course, but I could be wrong!
