Default PGA Merchandise Fall Expo Show
The PGA fall show is coming up pretty soon at the end of August and early Sept. We have not yet decided on whether or not to cover this one because it is not as large as the Orlando show and very few equipment companies are going. However there are lots of apparel companies and we do love our clothes and finding new brands for our readers like we did in Jan.

We want to pose the question to our readers on whether or not you think we should attend this one? What kind of coverage you want? Etc... We really liked how we covered the PGA Show in January and if you are new here and never got to see our coverage, it is worth the time to check it out. We tried to create the atmosphere that we were bringing our readers to the show with us via pictures and video.

But some may like just summaries and less threads. Let us know your thoughts and please vote in our poll.

I voted yes!

I'm personally not a gear/gadget fan, but I loved seeing pictures of the pro golfers hanging out, and hearing the stories. Plus, I liked seeing photos and recaps of the clothing lines coming out. There were so many new threads every day packed with stuff, I couldn't read them all!

I'm going to say No. Unless a huge quantity of clothes are being released from some major brands, I am not interested.

Easy for me to say yes, since you do all the work and spend your valuable time at it!

I'm voting yes. Since you do a ton of clothing reviews, and all the fall lines will be there, still worth the trip!

I think you should as well. If your coverage is only half as good as for the show down there, it will still be the best by any site by a mile!

I would prioritize against other things your doing for this forum....
If I had to say, chose between doing a full Wedge Shootout or going to a possible mediocre PGA show, I would chose the former....

As for the next Orlando event...Is that only for industry people or can "hackers" get in there on a special visa or something??

Neither of the PGA shows are open to the public, only media, buyers, and other industry can attend.

From a personal viewpoint- I voted no because I just don't care about clothes. I'm a pretty conservative "old geezer" and much of what passes for "golf style" I find laughable- Loudmouth pants being at the very top of the heap!

That said- I'm NOT your typical demographic so what I think isn't representative of younger forum users and I would discount my "no vote" by about 80% for that reason.

Thanks Pinged. This show is not an apparel only show, it just happens to be that there is more apparel than equipment at the fall show.

So I must confess I voted no. I would love to be able to go to the expo and have great coverage for everyone like we did last time but I fear the expense may out weigh the benefit. The more we grow the more money we put into the site, and I am all for it because I love everyone here, I love what we did, and I want to see us continue to expand. However, right now what we are putting into the site is no where near enough to cover what we get out (monetarily speaking). I hate to be the cheap one (and yes I know I usually am) but I would rather continue the contests and give back to our members then go to the show. The cost of the trip will probably be equivalent to about two months worth of shipping costs if we stayed.

She does the books for our house and the business, so I trust her judgement. We are a house divided on this one. I want to go and think we should go. We put up the poll to see what you guys thought.

It is a large expense. A couple of thousand dollars to be exact, but in the end, it was because of the last show that we are able to do a lot of the things that we do now. Please continue to vote and let us know your thoughts.
