But hmm twighlight lover hunting season... Can we shoot them over bait? |

Cause joining a facebook group and ranting about your distaste towards popular culture is exactly what all the cool peeps are doing!
But no, seriously, why does it matter? Personally, I didn't like Dark Knight. However it had an excellent following and sold extremely well. Likewise with Twilight, I don't like it, however it had an excellent following and sold extremely well. Just because you prefer something doesn't mean it's going to sell better than a competitor; otherwise with me the Gamecube would've come out on top last console generation (videogames). |

Yep, they do.
It's very popular to teenagers and pre-teens; not to mention adults. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of them cared about the franchise more than Batman; although as a comic geek, such a thought leaves me a bit aghast, but hey, that's just me. EDIT: For the record though, I myself have several times characterized the Twilight series as a 'Teenage-girl Vampire Swoon-fest', so take what you will. |

I think its all the "hot" guys. I dont find any of them attractive, but lots of teenage girls do. OH That guy totally didnt wear a shirt, and that Vampire took his shirt off too, *swoons* lol. I'll admit to watching both the movies and reading the books, but its a fad =/
The Dark Knight was pretty good tho ![]() |

i just want to know what makes Twilight different from any "Vampire-Romance" novel that has come out in the past century(besides the sparkling) I have to say that Twilight, although alot of my friends love it, bored the hell out of me. I couldn't watch it, so I decided to gather with the haters and played Yu-Gi-Oh!TCG while the females watched Twilight. I like Vladmir Dracul and old-school true Evil, not the modern rubbish that puts the name of vampire to shame! However, I can understand that Twilight movies/novels are more appealing to teenagers than some of the others. Also, I do not think that a majority of teenagers have good taste in anything, really. They're all just carbon copies of one another. |

so the movie about an insomniac, vegan, stalker, vampire beat out a movie about batman...I see no problem in that(Honestly no matter how good The Dark Knight seems to be I still don't think it was a good movie) I have to agree with Chris in that it doesn't matter and...personally? Shoryu needs to stop overreacting over small things.
Seriously though, I'm sure that the good majority of the people who like Twilight are female and a few males(which is fine) but it's because it appeals ot those who like romance and vampires and vegans and giant furry dogs and maybe some sort of love between all that and an annoying young teen girl who acts extremely stereotypical to what men think of women(to which they are mostly wrong about). Batman...well Batman was good for like the first 5 movies and Batman Begins was by far my favorite DC related movies But the Dark Knight, I don't think it was all that amazing and it might just be awesome to some people but I think it was meh to me. Either way, no need to go WHOAOMGWTF over Twilight getting a better rating than Batman because it honestly doesn't make any real difference in the long run. |

Guys totally read that Twilight ****. my point is the fact that dark knight was such a good freaking movie, and this utter bullsnot beat it out forthright... and batman was good for the first 5 movies? did you SEE batman forever and Batman and Robin? Joel schumaker is history's greatest monster!!! it's always the sausage with him... *a no prize to whoever gets that reference* and if you want to read a REAL vampire story, read hellsing. i just want to know what makes Twilight different from any "Vampire-Romance" novel that has come out in the past century(besides the sparkling) personally i prefer True Blood, but the idea of a more-or-less chaste vampire series is actually pretty original. i think it is good that a movies in a genre that normally is filled with gore, sex, and nudity is actually this huge. plus the second movie was a million times better then the first. the first was a groaner. the second, while almost as bad when it comes to the swooning and the wangst, actually fits a TON of story into it. ---------- Post added December 2nd, 2009 at 01:31 PM ---------- also dark knight is rated r and twilight movie is pg13 so... |
