I just finished up with Season 5, and I don't know; I thought it was far more enjoyable than either Season 3 or 4. I feel like Season 3 is where things started getting really clunky. Season 4 wasn't much of an improvement, but Season 5 brought back a lot of the comedy I really loved from the first two seasons.

I really enjoyed Season 5, too (which I also just finished), for the same reason. I didn't find the last two seasons completely lacking, but they were a bit clunky and they had a different dynamic. But 5 had me laughing out loud a lot. Knowing that Celia won't be back pisses me off! I mean, yeah, she is such a cunt, but that is what makes her character so great! The Season 6 premier has leaked online, and I was able to watch it. This season should be interesting, I only hope that I can find the rest of the episodes online after they air because I don't have Showtime and I really don't want to wait a year to watch the rest.

Can't wait for Season 6!

Here's the teaser:

Spoilers:

Apparently Season 6 will take Nancy and company to Seattle...

Linda Hamilton will join the cast. I don't really mind her, I guess.

Elizabeth Perkins said Season Six would be her last. This I'm really bummed about. Celia was a fantastic character.

And Alanis is slated to return as Dr. Audra Kitson. Yay! I loved her in Season 5.

It won't be long now!

I know nothing about the upcoming season. I really did not enjoy the last one. The further they get from Agrestic, the worse the show gets for me. I'll still give it a chance this season because it's only half an hour for what, 12 episodes max? Not a huge commitment. And when Doug and Celia's husband do anything, they rule.

Yes! And Elizabeth Perkins is leaving after this season. Sadness.

I wasn't too overwhelmed with the last season, but the finale made up for it, i think. I don't know, i'd have to see it again. I didn't think i enjoyed It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia's last season, but i've been on a rewatch and there's absolutely nothing sub-par about it, i was just hyped up with the wait.

Interesting... I remember loving season 5 much more than season 4. Season 4 was just way too dark--even gory at times for the type of show it started out as--, while season 5 managed to balance out the darkness with humor a little more, which is what made seasons 1-3 so enjoyable to me.

I'm re-watching all of the seasons again on DVD (just finished the first one) so I guess I'll see how I feel then.

-Christian.

I am just finishing up season 1 now. I needed a new show to get into, so I decided on this one. So far so good. I look forward to, hopefully, getting hooked. I've heard nothing but good things about it, so I'm hoping season 2 will do it for me.

Season 5 was a mixed bag, but overall it is still one of my favorite shows. I can't wait for the new season!

Hey, I know the director of that promo! Well, I know he did the promos for Seasons 1-5 (as well as the Dexter promos and a bunch of other stuff for Showtime), but it's possible they hired someone else for this one. Anyway, the last time he was down with his crew to shoot our TV campaign, I was asking them about the celebrities they've worked with. They said that Mary Louise Parker was by far the biggest bitch they had ever worked with. She would be on set to shoot the spots but would refuse to come out of her trailer for variously ridiculous reasons, then she would come out only to demand to have another break within 5 minutes of shooting. I wish I could remember the details, but I can't...they told me some specific stories that just made her sound like a completely horrendous diva. They'll be here next week, maybe I'll ask them again!

Otherwise, I love Weeds but feel like it has kind of halfway jumped the shark. I definitely didn't like the last few seasons as much as I like the first two.

Maybe we should call it "Smoke the shark" in regards to this show.

Well, I thought season 5 had great moments but mostly it was a bit boring. However, that season finale ruled.

I love Weeds but haven't seen any of the recent stuff. Need to get me the DVDs. I've only got seasons 1-3.

Mary-Louise Parker *sigh*

IDK, I was pretty blown away by Shane at the end of S5.

I agree with everything you posted I'm staying spoiler free for this season, and I have to admit the teaser is intriguing.
(Although, the season 5 was almost worth it alone for the scene with Celia and the syringe in her forehead!)

I watched the first season, which was enjoyable for being funny and having a heart. From what I've heard about where the show goes next, I don't really have any desire to continue.

I'd say things start getting clunky during Season 4. Season 5 was noticeably sub-par but I'm holding my breath things will improve with the new setting and fresh characters. In all honesty, this might very well be my favourite TV family, so I'm not abandoning ship just yet.

I'd say the show keeps the same general tone and feel through the first 3 seasons, with 4 and 5 being the big departures from the early seasons, so if you liked season 1, give season 2 a shot. I've enjoyed (parts of) the last 2 seasons, so I'm not giving up on the show, but it is totally different now than it was when I started watching.
