I LOVE Sharon Needles. The only thing that bothers me is that there are like a dozen queens out there that call themselves Sharon Needles. Originally I thought this was going to be the same Sharon we already saw on an old season of Project Runway, but alas.
Best line: 'give me Chernobyl chic!' ![]() Glad this show is back. |

This is really shaping up to be my favorite season... even the ones I don't care for are still somewhat entertaining. Jiggly is such a trainwreck, and so she'll probably be around for several weeks.
I can't get over how much Madame in drag reminds me of Delta (LOL at the other girls tonight comparing her to Stacey Layne Matthews though!), and how much Kenya reminds me of the smaller puerto rican from last season. Hilarious that Sharon's so down on herself but still winning competitions left and right. |

^ I don't see Sharon as being down on herself; I think she's surprised at the sort of praise she's getting, and it seems a justifiable response - not because she's not fantastic, but because the show has more characteristically been interested in a sort of passable, illusory genre of drag. As Sharon said, episode 1: drag isn't always just fishy bitches. But historically speaking, Ru's aesthetic definitely tends more toward that line.
It was another siq-ning episode! Though I like Madame as a personality, I'm really ready to see her go. She's just not on the same technical level. And her surface resemblance to Delta really doesn't pay off, because Delta was polished as hell. I actually do see the Stacy Layne Matthews comparison, because they're both out of their league. Mainly I'm ready to kill Jiggly, though. I recognize that she's obviously still grappling with her mom's death, but jesus, I just don't think I can take her defensive nastiness anymore. She's just one big negative weight (har har) in every scene. And she's not anywhere near as flawless as she thinks. Hi, Asian stereotypes? Manila did them last season, and she was actually funny. Still rooting for Sharon, Chad, and Latrice. Those are my big three, even though I'm already worried that Chad and Latrice are going to end up being mid-season fallouts in favor of more obvious choices, or more tempestuous personalities. |

I'm subscribed to Ru's Facebook page and Twitter feed. She's been in New Hampshire the last two days and she keeps on posting and tweeting that she is NOT running for president. I guess so folks are punning on Ron Paul/Rupaul. Could she be getting heat for it? Were these Ru appearances in NH a coincidence with the weekend Republican Primary? A prank?

I'm subscribed to Ru's Facebook page and Twitter feed. She's been in New Hampshire the last two days and she keeps on posting and tweeting that she is NOT running for president. I guess so folks are punning on Ron Paul/Rupaul. Could she be getting heat for it? Were these Ru appearances in NH a coincidence with the weekend Republican Primary? A prank? RuPaul to Republicans — don’t be a drag REUTERS - JAN 7, 2012 15:54 EST ![]() Drag queen RuPaul crashed New Hampshire’s first-in-the-nation primary scene on Saturday to clear up a possible case of mistaken identity for voters who might not have been paying close attention. Most would not mistake the notorious celebrity — singer, actor, reality TV star and the first drag queen supermodel — for Ron Paul, the crusty, 76-year-old Congressman and former obstetrician. But just in case… “I am NOT Ron Paul, and I’m not running for President!” RuPaul exclaimed during a high-energy visit to the tiny Red Arrow Diner in downtown Manchester, which has hosted more than its fair share of celebrities and political luminaries. A large number of local gays and lesbians, as well as adoring fans of all stripes, came out for the occasion. “Contrary to recent reports, I did not come in third in the Iowa caucus. I am not even a member of the Republican Party. But I am a proud American,” he said. “You better vote!” RuPaul was not in drag on Saturday, but looked spry in a stylish teal, double-breasted suit and black fisherman’s cap. “I do have a message for Ron Paul, and to all the Republican candidates,” said RuPaul, 51. “If you can’t love yourself, how the HELL are you going to love somebody else?” RuPaul vigorously denied that he was merely trying to promote his cable television show, “RuPaul’s Drag U,” a reality series featuring RuPaul and a team of drag queen “professors,” the new season of which, by the way, starts Jan. 30 on Logo. “I want you to know that this is NOT a cheap publicity stunt,” said RuPaul. “I flew here first class!” Michelle Stoner, 42, and her wife Chris Stoner, 39, drove 90 minutes from their home in Hubbardston, Massachusetts, to see RuPaul. The pair married after same-sex marriage was legalized in Massachusetts in 2004. It has also been legal in New Hampshire since 2010. The two were not disappointed that RuPaul didn’t arrive in drag. “Ru is Ru, and is beautiful as a man or a woman,” Stoner said. GeeGee Louise, 19, who works as a burlesque dancer in Boston, said seeing Paul was inspirational and hilarious. “Oh my god, he’s the queen of drag. It’s just so great that he’s so confident and so true to himself. He’s all about self-confidence, it’s an inspiration.” Many in the crowd were aware of comments made on Thursday in New Hampshire by Republican contender Rick Santorum — who has a contentious, to say the least, history with the gay community — comparing same-sex marriage to polygamy. “Santorum is heading backward when we need to go forward,” said Karen Ellis, 40, of Manchester. As RuPaul left, many in the crowd were heading off for early-morning mimosas at a nearby bar, and preparing for a gay pride rally and march on Saturday afternoon. Pride marches typically take place in June, but the presence in New Hampshire of so many conservative politicians is too good a chance to pass up, they said. “We’re going to show the candidates that gay rights matter,” said Jeff Kramer, 27, a student at the New Hampshire Institute of Art. RuPaul said he was spreading a message of tolerance. “Let’s not forget, this country was founded by a bunch of men in wigs. Am I right?” RuPaul asked his fans, to cheers. “When a man walks outside in a wig and a pair of cha-cha heels, he is making a political statement.” http://blogs.reuters.com/talesfromth...99t-be-a-drag/ |

Thoughts on episode 2?
I used to be hugely into WWF wrestling during middle school (I know, wtf), so this was really fun to watch. I loved the concept and it left a lot of room for the girls to show off their personalities and creativity. I was sad The Princess didn't do too well, as she's kind of a favorite of mine. -Still LOVE Sharon Needles. Trying not to make her my favorite, as she seems like an obvious pick, but I love her in and out of drag. I fell for her when I saw that first promo. Hasn't been anyone like her! -Chad also rose to be one of my favorites. Sad story about his injections, but he has a good attitude about it. Not to mention, the best Cher drag ever. -I think Latrice could win it all if she plays her cards right. -GTFO Jiggly. Hate hate hate hate. |

I too was a huge wwf fan, but more importantly I was a huge GLOW (georgeous ladies of wrestling) fan and I felt it was paying homage to GLOW more than anything else.
I totally agree on all of your picks. I thought Willem had a chance but his arrogant attitude is already palpable this early on I think he will be voted off |

I thought Latrice and that shorty (I forget her name) were robbed! They did so great with the wrestling challenge!!! I didn't really like Latrice Royale earlier either, but watching her on Untucked especially gave me a new found appreciation for her. I still really like Sharon Needles, but for some reason I'm worried that she's just a bucket of somewhat clever one-liners. I don't know how much there is behind the sort of innocent 1960s housewife voice and her quirky quips. I guess time will tell! I like Phi Phi O'Hara, but maybe that's only because she's the hottest boy out of drag. I don't like Madame LaQueer, and I especially don't like Jiggly Caliente. Make her go away! |

She kinda freaks me out in some ways, but I'm totally warming up to Kenya. She was the best WTF wrestler, in my opinion. |
