I felt like Sonjia's should have totally won. It had a lot more going on with it. Sharks for the win! I really was hoping that after Ven said his was inspired by stained glass, that the colors would be darker, instead of pastel. I wasn't crazy about the color palette. But other than that it was a great design. I thought Christopher's was super ornate and beautiful. I think the loser they picked was appropriate. Glad that Andrea made it through even though her apron looked like Twister. I think this is a very strong group of designers this season, and I'm really excited.

I hated all the dresses. Well, the winner's wasn't bad, but I didn't like it for the Emmys, if that makes sense. To me, it was fail after fail. I always feel bad for the non-winning member of the winning team. Like "hey you won, but you didn't really win. Ha ha."

I also was not excited to see Anya, Irina, and Kenley again. The latter two were as bitchy and annoying as ever. Seriously, Irina is up there on a potentially winning team and she starts to criticize instead of being gracious. I was shocked she didn't demand to be put in some horrible beige sweater dress. The designers were annoying as all hell too. I hated that Ukrainian woman. "We have no time in my country to say please or thank you." Well, in my country we have time to say "FUCK YOU." It was hard to tell with the non-losing team on the bottom (Christopher? and the older woman) if it was as bad as his histrionics implied.

I was just overall surprised by how poorly everyone seemed to do with an evening gown challenge, no big crazy twists to it, and how much complaining and bitching there was. "Oh it wasn't enough time." YOU HAD TWO PEOPLE!

Yeah, this whole episode was a trainwreck. The Ukrainian girl is annoying, Chris is annoying, Gunnar is annoying (though luckily they didn't show as much of him this week). I love when the Ukrainian girl said something about her teammate not being on the same skill level as her. Let's all throw each other under the bus.

I forgot who Irina was until she opened her mouth and then I instantly remembered why she made me want to punch babies.

My favorite two lines are still from last week:

Michael: "She's Rigatoni Mad Max."
Heidi: "She looks like a dude."

The Ukrainian woman makes me want to kick puppies. I mean, I'm not a huge fan of Buffy but at least she was working and not bitching the entire time (which she could have, since her teammate is/was a raging bitch).

I LOVE Kooan. He's weird and maybe not the type of designer they normally have... and he probably won't last long... but I love him and his attitude... Even though their dress was a little cray-cray in the tailoring around her booty, that bitch could have been a little more greatful that she was even given screen time again.

I felt bad for Chris because "Grandma Fashion" apparently can't handle pressure, but I really wish he had just taken full control and put that bitch in her place. But I don't think he wanted to fight. He just wanted to get through it I guess.

This whole episode was a hot mess. This whole SEASON is shaping up to be a hot mess.

OMG somebody please strangle Irina. She's still a fucking bitch. If I was one of the designers I would have so brought up her plagarism scandal

Me too.

We all know Irina was pissed off because Kooan didn't let her shave his hair to use it as lining for one of her coats.

This was a boring episode.

Yes, it was very underwhelming. I mean, the satin sheet dress was just embarrassing, so how the fuck was that safe?

I love him, too, and seeing him sad this week gave me a sad, too.

I could have sworn that Team April was going to win. What the fuck.

It's that time of the year. I can't believe I've been watching this show for freaking nine years. At this point I just love to hate it.

  • Crazy person with crazy outfits for no one? Check.
  • Mum's idea of "young and hip" turns out to be ill fitting and old? Check.
  • Bitchy gay guy with attitude and a faux mohawk? Check.
  • Michael Kors´ still orange? Check.

That pink rose shaped boustier was amazing. The pleaded white pants? Not so much.
Also, weird Japanese man don't you ever leave us. I know you got more crazy in you, and I can't wait to see it.

I'm obsessed with Ukrainian chick, she is badass and I love her stuff. Love love love. Fancy gown dude who can really sew, meh. Boring, really. Appreciate his talent but I like the more distinctive, cutting edge pieces.

Also, holy surprise from the dredlock chick. Her stuff looked awesome on the runway!

What the FUCK was up with the judging? Seems to me like they were judging both outfits as if they had both been made at Parsons.

I was not engrossed in the episode. I find that I don't like the first few episodes their first airings because there are too many people and I can't keep them straight. It was interesting that their first challenge was reasonable, as it seems usually that's the crazy one, like dollar store/grocery store challenges.

90 minutes still is too long for me. Maybe in reruns I might like it, but at the beginning there is too much going on and toward the end, not enough.

I was rewatching the Christian/Chris/Rami/Sweet Pea season this week and I was totally in to that, so I know the show itself still engrosses me, but the new ones just take a while to click.

I really wasn't engrossed either! I can barely remember anyone except the dreadlocks, afro, and art teacher. I'll have to watch it again (although it's always more interesting to watch the first episodes at the end of a run to see how first impressions change).

I haven't really clicked with any season in a long time -- Mondo maybe? -- but even then, nothing compares to my love for Season 3!

I haven't really followed PR in a long time, so I'm a bit excited about watching it again:

Roboklum is back ! and Oompa Loompa Kors winner of the Donna Karen Handbag Design Lifetime Achievement Award and Nina Garrrrrrrrcia Fashun Editor Of Mayrayh Clayre Magazayne (and yes be afraid, there will be another lame MCM-cover girl challenge)

first impressions:
wouldn't it be awesome if the old fashion teacher turned out to be the new Wendy? (and didn't her second design look like something from the pregnancy challenge?!)
who else was excited that Mary Kate Olsen was in the top three? (or is it Ashley, I can't tell?) (I liked her jacket)
is it gaycist that I couldn't tell the two fighting gays apart at first?
who else thinks draping is overrated?
and yes, I also liked Ani DiFranco's looks a lot (I like hoods), and Ukrainian girl's warrior designs
what's with them hating on black so much?
and what is it with half of the designers' new looks looking a lot better than what they did at home?
is it me, or did they cut Tim Gunn's onscreen time a lot compared to previous seasons?
who else thinks the show us who you are as a designer challenge is lame, and letting them make it at home even lamer? I think my favorite first challenge ever was the one where they had them rip apart the furniture in their hotel rooms and make outfits out of that
Lauren Graham was lovely, especially coming across more like a fan of the show rather than another celebrity who thinks putting their name on some outfit makes them a design expert

Well Gunnar DID SAY that he didn't like Christopher, because they were just so much alike.

Buffi reminds me of Lady Gaga's sister if she had one.

I think they only hated on the color black so much, because it's hard to discern what the outfit is doing on the runway. You have to be up close on it to really see the detail.

Tim Gunn's screen time seem to be a bit more to me, especially during the consultations.

How is it possible that they found someone more annoying than Josh last season?! Gunnar makes me want to slap my tv. But his collection he brought to auditions were fabulous.
Christopher reminds me a lot of Michael C.

Yes! That's what I was coming in here to post! The episode didn't really make much of an impression on me (the first few weeks never do because there are so many people) so all I kept focusing on was how Chris is the new Michael. Not only do they sort of look alike, but he's already crying in a bunch of the previews. OH GOD NOT AGAIN.
