I haven't seen it or the Kids are all Right, but neither of them struck me as COMEDIES by their ads and reviews. I hate when you think a movie is a comedy when really, it's a drama with some funny moments. That doesn't make it a comedy.

Oh and go Trent Reznor. Has he done the whole red carpet thing before?

BERLIN — Johnny Depp, Angelina Jolie and Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck say they're touched and honored to be nominated for several Golden Globe awards for their film "The Tourist."

The three were in Berlin for the premiere Tuesday of the film that was nominated for best picture, best musical comedy actor and actress.

Depp, who was also nominated for his role in "Alice in Wonderland" said he was"very touched by the double nomination.

Jolie said the acknowledgment was an honor, then added "we were laughing because it's the first time that I've been in the comedic category so it's new for me."

German director von Donnersmarck said he was happy with the nomination for "The Tourist," his second film, which opened in the U.S. last week to generally poor reviews http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/1..._n_796594.html

I was expecting to see more nominations for Rabbit Hole. At least one for John Cameron Mitchell and another for Aaron Eckhart. They both very much deserve it.

19. Best Actor in a TV series, drama
Steve Buscemi - Boardwalk Empire
Bryan Cranston - Breaking Bad
Michael C. Hall - Dexter
John Hamm Mad Men
Hugh Laurie - House
i love all of these shows and there's no way i would be able to choose a winner. i think steve buscemi has done a really good job on boardwalk empire; usually, he seems to play very fidgety and nervous/neurotic characters, but his "nucky" character on BW has such an intense calmness, it makes him irresistible (to me at least) and a very fascinating person to watch on screen.

22. Best TV series, drama
Broadwalk Empire
Dexter
The Good Wife
Mad Men
The Walking Dead my feelings are the same here; i watch all of these shows (the good wife, however, is not at the top of my list) and i wouldn't even know where to begin to choose a winner. it's interesting that the walking dead got nominated with only 6 episodes, but wow, those six episodes were really amazing. i was underwhelmed with this season of dexter, but mad men did not disappoint. it seems like, to me, it just gets better with each season.

Why is The Tourist a comedy? Because the Hollywood Foreign Press Association wants Brad and Angie there. And, because Johnny Depp could take a dump on the floor and they'd nominate it for an award.

That said, MOST of the nods seem on the up and up. I'm rather pissed that the best flat-out comedy of the year, Cyrus, got skunked. And Winter's Bone needs more nods, although I actually think it'll do better with the Oscars.

One nod I really like on the TV side is Scott Caan. Hawaii 5-0 is a lot of fun, and his performance - cranky, hilarious, touching - is the best thing about it.

I will probably always watch the Oscars regardless of quality out of ritual. Hathaway and Franco as hosts this year can't hurt.

Luckily I have no such allegiance towards the Golden Globes. The Tourist and Red nomination(s), really!? + general yawn, no thanks.

The Tourist isn't nearly as bad as reviewers would have you believe. I'm convinced the writer-director must have trashed film critics in general and now they're getting revenge because the near universal panning this movie is getting is pretty odd. If you look on rotten tomatoes, it has a 20% rating with critics but 78% of the general public liked it.

It's lighthearted fun. Nothing great, but not bad at all. It was just marketed badly. I went in expecting some serious spy shit and instead found a throwback rom-com caper.

It doesn't deserve a best picture nomination, but there are far more scandalous nominations than The Tourist. Like...Burlesque. That was the worst movie I have seen in years. SO BAD SO BAD.

The point of watching the Globes is not the nominations so much. The point is that the show is loose and fun because all the stars are drunk.

^^If they couple that with more inappropriate camera cutting I may be game.

@devnull, I didn't think The Tourist was as bad as the wrap it's getting either, just nothing to write home about. I didn't see Burlesque, does it have camp redeeming qualities, or did it miss on that note too?

Sad to see that Nathan Fillion ( my husband), got nothing. I think Castle is tons of fun and reminds me of old shows like Scarecrow and Mrs. King!

Speaking of Twitter, Nathan's tweets are fantastic. Partially simply because his hot ass writes them.

^^ I flipped by the client on TV the other day - totally forgot she played the mom in that. What a talent: her Angels in America performance tops my list, and I agree she did a great Nancy/Nathalie this year
