Default I Wouldn't Want To Be Very Famous
If I had a choice, I'd like to be a minor celebrity. However, to be wildly famous is something that I don't think is for me. You can't even walk down the street without people coming up to asking for autographs if you are super-popular. I like to have privacy.

I have a funny feeling that I'm in the minority about this. But that's what I think.

Don't think you're too much in the minority, my roommate is the same way, he's very much an introvert.
most people who want to be famous are extroverts, and the ones who want to be famous with no real talent are just obnoxious
I would love to be famous, as a rapper or an actor. It's about actually following that passion thats got me hobbled

I wouldn't mind being famous through something I've done - I want to write a book, and authors generally don't get superstar famous unless they're very, very good, or very controversial.

Definitely wouldn't want to be 'famous' as in Kim Kardashian or Jade Goody. I'd hate to be scrutinised like that.

I could not stand being famous. I hate being the center of attention; I couldn't handle never having any privacy, people going through my RUBBISH, not to mention the constant rumours and scrutinization. No thank you, not for me at all.

One positive aspect about being a famous actor is that if you find that you don't like the fame, you can usually get out of the public limelight fairly quickly by ending your career as an actor and moving on to a career which won't keep you famous.

I wouldn't mind being rich, but being famous? I'll pass.

Actors who suddenly become successful often find it to be intimidating when all of a sudden they're famous. It's intimidating to have people come up to you a lot and ask for your autograph and try to talk with you.

Not me. It's hard enough to know who your real friends are. Add fame to the mix and well...

Pretty sure if I was very famous I could afford to buy a huge mansion in many acres of land, build a big wall around it, fill it with everything I could desire and have all the privacy I want.

Some who want to be famous should be careful what they wish for.

People who've never been in the limelight don't realize the hassle of the simple things in life like going out with your family to a restaurant, seeing a movie or just taking a walk.

At least with actors and musicians it's generally positive reactions unless you do something stupid. Being a famous athlete or a professional or collegiate coach is a whole different story. Fans are very passionate and how they treat you changes with the wind depending on how you perform and the results you produce. You can be the nicest person in the world but if you start costing your team games due to your performance or poor coaching the gloves come off and you suddenly have a giant bullseye on your back.

Lots of people don't realize how it feels to be a standup individual and the nicest person in the world yet be booed, heckled and even have threats made against you just because you dropped a pass in the endzone or decided to go for it on 4th and short instead of kicking the long field goal only to not convert and miss the playoffs because of your call. At least with celebrities their performances in a movie or album don't cause adverse reactions from the fans.

Sports fans are very passionate and only care about what you've done for them lately. And being a part of a big school with a long and proud tradition like Alabama, USC, Auburn, Texas, Florida, Michigan, Oklahoma, Nebraska, LSU and so on and any pro team multiplies the intensity and spotlight by a factor of 10. No matter what your reputation and past record is, you're always on a short leash and people who love you one minute will turn on you in a heartbeat and despise you and scream for your job the next. Definitely a stressful profession.
