I agree with Oldman for sure. Definitely doesn't get enough props.

I was going to say Forest Whittaker but then, he did get an oscar.

Default A Tribute to some of your Favorite Actors
Figured we should have a thread to have posts in honor of favorite actors and actresses ...

Kevin Spacey

This guy always amazes me in both his movies and his awesome impressions! Here is a good vid for his impressions

Some of his awesome roles:
Bobby Darin in Beyond the Sea in which Spacey actually sang!
David Gale in The Life of David Gale in which Spacey plays an anti-capital punishment activist and how his life spirals out of control!
Eugene Simonet in Pay It Forward where he plays a teacher
Lester Burnham in American Beauty where Spacey really nails the role of a man going through his midlife crisis.
John Doe in Se7en where Spacey displays a chilling murderer.

Gary Oldman

Gary Oldman is an actor that doesn't get enough props, in my opinion. This guy is in SO much stuff and can really disappear into his roles. This, I would think, is one hell of an acting ability and should definitely be mentioned.

Some of his roles:

Jim Gordon - The Dark Night Movies
Sirius Black - The Harry Potter Movies
Mason Verger - Hannibal (The really screwed up looking guy)
Jean-Baptiste Emanuel Zorg - The Fifth Element
Immortal Beloved - Beethoven
Dracula - Dracula (the one with Keanu Reeves)
Lee Harvey Oswald - JFK

I like an actor who is good at playing the good guy in one movie and a villian in the next. That's why I like John Travolta.

Good call! The ability to change roles like that is exactly what I think makes a good actor.

As much as it vexes me to say it .......................

Leonardo Dicaprio

This guy can really disappear into his roles. His portrayal of Howard Hughes in "The Aviator" was extremely well done. He also did an amazing job in J. Edgar! Of course, who could forget his role in "What's Eating Gilbert Grape"? Other good movies that he did a great job in:

The Departed
Blood Diamond
Shutter Island

Jason Alexander was second to none when it came to playing the part of a neurotic type. He had the looks and the high, wimpy voice that made him great on the sit-com Seinfeld as "George."

Leslie Nielson was great at acting as a guy that was so out of it! The parts he played were of characters who were often in their own little world.

Brad Pitt.

I don't care what anyone says, that guy is an awesome actor. The Ocean's movies, Inglorious Basterds, Burn After Reading, Fight Club, Moneyball, etc.

All great roles for him.
