Jazak-Allah khair for the replies.

I've come to the conclusion that it's probably best to simply stay away. It's really not important for me to interact with things I know nothing about and to which there is a doubtless and superior alternative. Alhamdullilah there are many other scholars of greater learning and repute so its best to just stick with those upon whom there is no doubt.

The reason why I asked in the first place was because he is going to be coming to Toronto and people will be listening to and interacting with him so I just wanted to be aware of who he was.

Some people do need to however temper their emotions and perhaps use a tad more adab even with people we disagree with.

May Allah(swt) guide us all towards that which is without doubt and may He guide us to the path of His chosen servants. Ameen.

he is a filtyhy agent working for the shias.

We shouldn't jump to conclusions, especially when he dedicated a lecture(s) destroying Shiaism (using there own books), proving Abu Bakr is the successor and defending the Ahl-ul-Sunnah.

Shi'as constantly use him as a "Sunni scholar" in their propaganda pieces to support their side of the stories.

I have watched a few of his lectures on TV and found him to be very knowledgeable especially on the science of Hadith. I am a Shia and as far as I can tell he does not share the views of Shias on most issues, so I do not know why many Sunnis dislike him. However he does hold the view that members of Ahlebyat are superior to other Sahabas. Could this be the reason why many Sunni brothers do not like him?.

please....we shouldnt use these terms such as deobandi and barelvi. its so frustrating, we follow the same aqeeda and madhhab. there may be slight differences on aqeeda issues, but these issues are the things the great ulema of the past have never written about, and there was reason not to, as it was not something of importance to our deen. if it was im sure the likes of imam abu hanifa, imam al ghazali, and imam at tahawi would have written things in their works of aqeeda.

i follow hanafi madhhab, an i hear hanafis cursing each other, these people dont even know where their differences lie, and are certainly not educated to have an oppinion! and we sit here day by day wandering where this blessed ummah is going wrong, we dont agreee witht hose that dont follow madhhabs and say its bid'a...(we who do being those on the correct way and having intelligance should try and get on with them) but as for not getting on with people int he same madhhab i find absolutely daft.im not asian, but unfortuantely i think someextent of all this divide has to be put down to culture.it doesnt happen in the other madhhabs, just ours!

may Allah ta'ala give us strength and unify us.Ameen

I have heard from deeni trusted elders that a mosque in london established and run by s. tahir ul qadiri in the 90's was bought through haram means.

Basically, the shura of the soon built mosque tempted a old muslim women from our community to sign an agreement so in their eye's, the house that was under her name would be transferred into the shura's name so they could buy a property to be used as a mosque. The old women was tricked into signing the agreement and this led her to live in a council (gov) house. They are crooks and may allah guide them all.

Asslamo Allaikum,

Dr Tahirul Qadri is rejected by Deobandees, Barelwees, Ahl-e-Hadeeth & Salafees, Jamaat-e-Islami & others I am using these terms because they exist.

He is a on his own & as I said previously the people who I have read to have praised him are Pervaiz Musharraf & his Cabinet because of Dr Tahir ul-Qadiri support for the "war on Terror (whatever that is, because then he said in a Press Conference that this term should be defined in an Islamic context)

He is an enthusiastic Supporter of War on Terror but then he supported just about everyone in Power from the days he used to ride his bicycle to the Masjid on Raiwind Lahore to lead prayers (as an Imam) to his Meteoric rise (riding in a Mercedes SLK)...People of Lahore know him and have seen him.

Some sincere advice, brother: You shouldn't make such claims if you can't back them up with evidence.

There is a hadith that goes something like this: "It is enough for a person to be a liar, if he narrates everything he hears."
