With hours away from the London 2012 Olympic opening ceremony, i thought this would be a befitting moment to dig up a long forgotten and buried myth about the origins of the Olympic. For once I agree with you. The Ummah needs to concentrate on eradicating the modernist, Western colonised mindset before it can progress. You know the type of mindset that believes there is nothing wrong with watching the Olympics (our agreement did not last long alhamdulilllah)!!

The Olympics are a minor sporting event promoted to super global Event by the corporate mass media, corporate sponsors and kafir governments. They are designed to keep people stupidly distracted and only concerned about the sport. Really grown people with fully functioning intellects would see the big waste that are the Olympics, they have no practical benefit for anyone, except maybe the sports people taking part who maintain their health.

Olympics will draw a global audience. So , its a perfect place for the satanic central bankers to send a message of fear and hatred towards Islam globally , if they can cause a false-flag bombing and put

Rather than watching sport, go and do sport... archery and shooting sounds good.

Out of 906 medals available, I roughly counted muslims in the medal list. I believe around 10-15 medals were won by Muslims even though we represent approximately 25% of the world population. No elite Muslim athlete apart from Mo Farah from the 10,000 total athletes participating. Are Muslims not good in sports or is it unimportant at all to triumph in sports? Is it a completely useless ambition for muslims thus the poor performance?

these people make their entire life revolve around their sport. what have we to gain from that?
i have been a sportsman. i used to lift weights in the gym and play football in various positions. it requires one heck of a time to just stay fit let alone improve your skills. why waste my entire day working out, running, jogging, practicing, eating, resting, sleeping? if i told you my time table you would be surprised.

for sports such as shooting etc again you need to spend considerable time to practice everyday. get mad about it. get passionate about it. these are not the things to fall in love with. if done just for winning a medal they are a waste of time.

Yes I agree with what you say.

Just that for some reason when a Muslim makes it to the top it feels good whether it be academics, science or sports.

And just imagine sportsman post-event interviews thanking Allah and saying their victory was due to him e.t.c. I think that can be another way of da'wah since most westerners are sport fanatics and olympics has a big global audience like how prince naseem persistently re-iterated Allah's greatness in the boxing scene.

Sports as an occupation is probably valid - in that way its not a hobby displacing your worship/religious commitments. I do agree that if it is above one's usual occupation, it is likely to waste considerable time. I know a guy who lifts weights and wastes 2 hrs after work and has been doing for the last 2 years. He likes to keep fit and look good. I just see him as wasting considerable precious time.

I think why Muslims performed very poorly is because there is no incentive of material reward and likely most muslim countries dont have sportsmen who are occupationally commited to their sport. I highly doubt we performed badly because we suck at sports.

Its economics and lack of support that leads to a situation where so few Muslims get medals.

In west Africa we have the greatest potential resource of sprinters in the world and east Africa the greatest potential resource of longer distance runners,

but it is wasted because the potential Muslim world number 1 sprinter is a fisherman or a butcher whose natural ability has wasted before he could have got to his peak if spotted and trained

All the other sports tend to be more related to backing and training a large enough pool to produce the gems.

People don't do well at the olympics without a lot of backing, training and support that is generally starting a decade or more before they compete

this is why even in a country like UK where there are many athletics tracks and sports clubs etc - half of the GB medals went to people who had been at private school.

If Muslims want the Ummah to do well at the olympics (which is of doubtful benefit) they need to pray and work to promote a United Amirate of the Muslin countries where Muslim resources and economics could be pooled to turn darul Islam into something more like an Islamic China.

But rather than waste our time on children's games would it not be better to focus on eradicating poverty and rather than promoting a satanic me-first attitude we could teach people humility and charity.


Better to turn a child into a Hafiz or a doctor than an athlete.
