You can wear jeans just not tight jeans, so long as you are not showing your shape it's not a problem. You can wear jeans under a jilbab or long baggy top that comez down to the knees. The mane key is not to wear skin tight jeans or show the body. I am not giving up my jeans and im not breaking any wajib how I wear them.

Might I just add that women are just as attracted to the male face in the same way men are attracted to ours? Perhaps men should wear niqab too Like when I meet my husband MarShAllah the first thing I was attracted too was his face and eyes. The facial expression tells so much that words cannot. A smile from one muslimah to another could be the start of a friendship. Allah knows best. |

Hijab has never been a gender discriminatory tool of Islam to suppress women. Rather the mention of Hijab in few places in the Holy Quran has been mentioned addressing the men and women in equal measures. Hijab as mentioned by Quran refers to the instructions to both men and women to dress in a modest way, so as not to expose your Awrah in public or in front of strangers. The definition of Awrah too varies differently as per interpretation of various scholars more influenced by their regional considerations than what the message actually put forth by Quran. Awrah refers to parts of body which can be termed as intimate or construed as objects of desires, to safeguard ones modesty and decency in public. I respect all those women who willingly and out of their own conscious decision wear them, but hate those men who try to impose the same upon their wives and sisters and female family members. You serious? I'm not saying saying ALL men are not pretty, but i don't think women get attracted to looks as quick as men do. We are created differently, that's the reason the shariah hasn't made it necessary for even pretty men to wear niqaab! Why do ppl all throw in shariah and by pass the actual Quran and sunnah. Many scholars have translated it to mean covering chest, neck, bosoms, breasts etc. Niqab is not obligatory according to the majourity of scholars. It is highly recommend. Yes I am serious about female-male attraction hence why both sexes must advert there eyes. Believing men and women are both to lower there gaze. It's obvious females are going to get attacted to. Like I said b4 shariah is perfect how ppl practise it is not. |

sister Hello Kitty this is an othordox sunni forum
people here follow Scholars who follow in the tradition of one of the four madhabs the view of Islam that you are advocating seems closer to that of the Muslim modernists or the Indian Ahle Hadeeth people here believe that Islam is a deen (way of life) of transmission and that the best understanding of Qur'an and Sunah come through that which has been passed down not by our own limited self study. |

Why do ppl all throw in shariah and by pass the actual Quran and sunnah. there are differences in the particularities of Fiqh between the scholars based upon their slightly different understandings of what the Quran and Sunnah are telling us, but the important thing is that the true scholars of Islam were academically and spiritually suitably qualified to try and interpret Quran and Sunnah directly (especially as they stayed within one of the four authoritative traditions of fiqh), but we are not. |

Salams thank you that's what I am thinking Shariah is suppose to be from the Quran and Sunnah however some countries don't follow the Quran and Sunnah yet still call it Shariah. Like for example banning women from schools and work claiming that's shariah when it's against the Quran. |

sister Hello Kitty you need someone very learned to explain to you the very fine difference between Fiqh and Shariah as they overlap, but are not quite exactly the same thing. Understanding this difference should answer some of your questions.
In my brief and fumbling attempt I may suggest to you that Fiqh is the human attempt to reach to or accord with the Shariah which is God's Law. There are different understandings of Fiqh, but there is only one Shariah. |
