I have a question to the members of Sunni Forum.

Is Shytan a concept? Just like Evil; is an understanding or idea. Evil it self is not something that walks or talks. So similarly is Shytaan something like that; an understanding that going against the will of Allah and causing others to go against it and transgress some of the boundary layed down by Allah.

So Iblees is someone who embraced Shytaan or the concept of Shytaan and then became a Shytaan. So that means there can be more than one Shytaan or lots of Shyateen.

This is my understanding of Shytaan. What are your thoughts ?

Iblis and Shaytan refer to the same being (Satan) and neither of those two titles refer to a concept, but instead refer to an actual being. Please read about the story of Prophet Adam (peace be upon him) that I have provided a link to below and pay particular attention to what is said about him.

Not all all, satan is very much a maqlooq [creation] of Allah Subhanau wa'tala just like us, just like jinns, just like animals etc, there are clear hadiths on this I had uploaded a scan ages ago...in a thread titled Jinns or something by user Truthfromproof - I suggest you search SF
