The latest "trend" that I've heard in some Muslim countries is people half an hour or so before the Fajr adhaan will drive as a family to one of the many eating places (which are open for Ramadhan at this time and probably opened since iftaar) and do the pre-dawn meal "eating out". Islamically, is this permissible, recommended, disliked, haraam or just a neutral act? Or has the simplicity of Islam been lost by this fashion of "going out" to eat for even the pre-dawn meal? Why can't people stay at home?!?! By eating out it becomes more of a "social event" rather than an act of ibadah? Some Muslims would understand it this way....
