Asalaamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakaatuh,
I was told about a 'Wali' from Bangladesh who used to dress sometimes as a male and sometimes as a female. I can't remember his name but I've seen photos of him, one of which shows him dressed as a typical asian bride, in a red saree and gold jewellery. I find it hard to believe that a friend of Allah would actually (I hate to use the term) cross-dress. I've always believed that for a person to be a Wali of Allah, they would have some apparent signs of the Sunnah upon them e.g. the beard, however this person had a squeaky-clean chin and jawline. It could be that no hair grows on his face, but I've noticed that many sub-continent 'saints' seem to lack hair on their chins, yet they sport huge moustaches. His photos can be seen at Shah Paran Shrine in Sylhet, Bangladesh. Does anyone have any information about this person? JazakumAllahu Khairan. |

Cross dressing is clear-cut against the sunnah. Rasulullah
![]() The potential for wilayah will be forfeit if a person is doing that. http://www.sunnipath.com/library/Hadith/H0004P0292.aspx |
