Ramadan to start on Saturday the 21th according to the most reliable societies working according the Sunnah method:
Jamiatul Ulama South Africa "RAMADAN MOON-SIGHTING Assalaamu 'Alaikum! The moon has not been sighted. As such Sha'baan ends with 30 days tomorrow. 1 Ramadan 1433 corresponds to Saturday 21 July 2012. We wish all Muslims Ramadan Mubarak!". [Jamiatul Ulama South Africa - www.islamsa.org.za] Wifaqul `Ulama' - UK "Ramadan Hilal- 1st Ramadhan on Saturday 21st July Thu - 19 Jul Alhamdulillah Members of the Ulama of Wifaq and the general public made the effort to sight the hilal of Ramadhan in many towns and cities. We have NOT received any news of positive sighting here in the UK, even from the observatory in York. We have NOT received news of actual sightings from anywhere else; hence the Wifaq ul Ulama hereby announces Shabaan will have 30 days and that the 1st of Ramadhan will be on Saturday 21st of July 2012 according to the Sunnah. We conclude with the Dua: May Allah forgive our shortcomings and shower his immense mercy and blessings on each and every one of us in this very blessed month of Ramadhan that is to start on Saturday". Ramadan to start on Saturday the 21th according to the most reliable societies working according the Sunnah method: there isn't the usual domino rally of sightings and announcements across the world that usually happen. it seems that only a handful of sightings are claimed by some people in Saudi, Egypt and Nigeria (all of these are impossible according to astronomical calculations, but if Allah wills it astronomical charts can count for nothing). many Muslims have been looking for the moon in clear skies using telescopes have seen no crescent and thus the countries who have stuck to local moon sightings have announced that Ramadan starts on Saturday, but InshaAllah Allah will be pleased by the sincere efforts of those who start on Friday and those who start on Saturday, yes? this pdf is interesting http://www.masud.co.uk/ISLAM/misc/mo...irths_Pt_2.pdf |

seems like most of the world is fasting based either on following Saudi or on astronomical calculation that is possible to see the crescent somewhere on earth. |
