man thats long. we doing 05:30 am - 5:40pm in Johannesburg

depending on which Masjid's published sheets you go by here (South Yorkshire UK) it is last night 2.39 according to the Pakistani Masjids near here (or 3.19 according to a largely Arab and Somali one near here) until 9.20 tonight, so that's about 18 hours.

Allah bless the Muslims who are in Canada, Scotland and all those places who fast a loooong time due to calculation methods etc.

anyway if they are fat it will help them in a good way Inshaallah.

people have to remember though to drink a day's worth of water in the time they have though (without killing themselves)

yep. after taravi finishes i try to drink about 2 litres in the short time i have left till suhoor ends. also important to eat those slow energy release type foods. ramzans gone by my suhoor was pretty much the same with mix of junk but now its fixed as: lots of water, bowl of oats (with honey),2 toasts of multiseed farmhouse wholemeal bread, a banana and lots of water at the end again.

MyLeva 07-24-2012 09:15 PM

mashaAllah that is healthy food, but brother maybe try and spread the water over the night to avoid stressing your body.

According to the Accurate Times calendar, in Western Canada (southern part) we are fasting from about 3:00 a.m. to about 9:30 p.m. (18.5 hours).

i dont thing he has that much time. i hope the ulama bodies have seperate taraweeh. a short taraweeh for some & then the longer taraweeh for those who wish to stand longer. I think you guys need more time to rest & eat. 4 hours so do you get invited for suhoor or iftaar......

I don't know if I've got the correct times, but I've been fasting from 4am to 8pm. It gets dark at around sometime between 6pm and 7pm, so I've been going for 8pm just to be on the safe side http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...icon_smile.gif

fiettariaps 07-24-2012 09:43 PM

avoid doing this at iftaar...

You can use Accurate Times to calculate the prayer times for your area. The time for fasting in Phnom Phen Cambodia today is from 5:31 a.m. to 7:28 p.m. (according to Hanafi madhab, taking summer time into account) but there are a number of variables to enter to get a more accurate time and the time will change slightly over the days.

5:31 a.m. is the time fajr starts so you need to stop eating/drinking etc. before this time. 7:28 p.m. is the time for maghrib and you should not delay breaking your fast (i.e. break it when you hear the adhan/the time has come).

All times are GMT +1. The time now is 05:45 PM.
