Good Ways to Increase your Imaan?

http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/salam.gif

Brothers and Sisters,

As all of you know Ramadhan is the greatest month in Islam. So in this month the chief Shaytaans are locked up and it is the best month to get closer to Allah http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/taala.gif and his Deen. So does anyone have anything that will help increase one's Imaan? Any sunnah prayers or anything? If you Sunnah prayers can you explain to me how to pray them?

Ramadhan Mubarak http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...nnah_smile.gif

There is no limit to how many nafl ibaadat you may do. You may read a lot of Qur'an, you may perform extra nafl salah, you may perform extra adhkaar, you may take part in qiyaam-ul-layl/tahajjud salah, etc. And then there are the masnoon salah such as Salat ad-Duhaa that you pray about 20 minutes after sunrise or the Awwaabeen salah that you can pray after maghrib.

There is no special method of praying any of these salah so the only thing that will change between these nafl and sunnah salah compared to the regular sunnah salah you pray (for example, 2 raka'ats after Maghrib) is the intention. Ramadhan is also a time to surround yourself in good company since there are usually many Islamic programs going on in masajid. Sometimes, world-renowned ulama may even drop by a masjid and give heart-changing speeches.

Also, you should always remember to give sadaqah (charity) in this month and you'll be presented with many opportunities for this at your masjid.

I wish I could go to the Masjid. Im 14 so I can't drive. And Im to afraid to tell my mom that I converted to Islam, so there is no way I could attended jummah prayers or anything.

May Allah http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/taala.gif make it easy for you. Do you know of any Muslims who live nearby or do you know any Muslims at school? Since Friday prayers happen during school time in most Western schools, could you also get yourself excused from school to attend Friday prayers? Also, if you do know Muslims from school, befriend them and they may be able to give you a lift to a masjid some time as many Muslims - even those who normally don't go to the masjid except for Jumu'ah - attend many of the five daily prayers in Ramadhan at the masjid. If that is still not possible, ask about any local Islamic events. Many people hold halaqas or small gatherings to talk about Islam and the deen in general or to talk about specific religious issues.

Funny thing is, since the school I went to in the late 90s and early 2000s had so many Muslims, sometimes even Christians and other non-Muslims would skip out for Friday prayers. Some would even attend Jumu'ah prayers http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...s/icon_lol.gif. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/alhamd.gif some would later come to Islam because of this.

Well right now were on Summer vacation. But funny story. I converted to Islam when school got out. I started praying the five prayers and bouth my self an English translation of the Qu'ran and started reading. When I learned about Jummah prayer I made Dua'a to Allah the Almighty and http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/alhamd.gif the next day I found out were moving. I looked up the place and http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/alhamd.gif it was near a Masjid! I make Dua'a that I am in walking distance of the Masjid.

lol. I always knew that the Almighty Allah http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/taala.gif has different ways of leading people to the Deen. This must be one of them. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...s/icon_lol.gif

in today's world - 4 months Jamaat will definitely increase the Imaan.
If people think its a bid'ah, then yes I do agree.

Sahaba spent whole life in the path of Allah. Are we ready?

BarBoss 07-25-2012 12:53 PM

This is not bidah.........

even sahaba spent 4 months some sahaba spent years 2 years even one sahabi spent 27 years so this is not Bida'h

even 1 sahabiya asked hazrat Ayesha RA how much is the minimum time to spent in path of Allah for our Husband's Hazrat Ayesha RA Replied 4 months is the minimum time ( Ref :- Hayatussahab )

Masha'Allah Zakariya, may Allah http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/taala.gif make it easy for you. You've got a huuuuuge family here to support you insha'Allah and insha'Allah your parents and other family members will be inspired through you too and insha'Allah a day will come when you can go to the mosque altogether as a family.

For now, try not to take on too much more than you can sustain. It is good to challenge ourselves but take it one step at a time and try to get into a schedule you can maintain beyond Ramadan too. In addition to those tasks to continue and maintain, as you increase your worship, you can have a surge (or a few) at some point in time during Ramadan where you do a lot of worship for the sake of Allah's http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/taala.gif pleasure... the brothers gave you (and me and others reading this thread) some great ideas/advice.

Ramadan Mubarak to you too.
