Default Why Indo-Pak sisters no longer use Afghani Burqa for purdah?
If i am not wrong then during 1930's and 40's the Afghani burqa was very much prevalent among the middle and upper middle class sections of Indian muslim women (pre-partition) mainly in north india (mainly Sarhad,Punjab,UP,) but now its only limited to the Pashtun tribal areas and Khyber-Pashtunkhwa region of Pakistan, some rural parts of Punjab and maybe in parts of UP like Saharanpur,Deoband.
My question is why sisters have abondened this form of burqa in majority of Indo-Pak as it serves the purdah purpose much better than the conventional black abaya style burqa? Please shed some light on it.

Jazak Allah
