Hello brothers and sisters,
Im a catholic girl, in love with a muslim boy. A few days back we were discussing about dreams and how seeing Prophet in your dream was considered very auspicious and holy. On hearing that I did some research and ended up on a site where you had some verses (sorry not aware of the right word) to read and it said you could see Prophet in your dreams. I started doing that every night before I slept. Today i had a strange dream in my dream in saw Jesus and then i saw a desert and a small house and next to that I saw a man standing with light shining around him as if it was coming from within him. He was wearing an off white kandoura, had a strange type of head gear, shoulder length wavy hair, beard, average height, dark eyes and a perfect set of pearl like teeth and a beautiful smile. I approached him and asked "Who are you?" and he said "I'm the Prophet Mohd." When I said I dont believe that, He smiled and asked me to count the no. of white hairs in His beard and I did that and it was sevteen. And I asked Him what does this mean. He said ask him and then I woke up. I said this to my bf and he doesnt believe it. He said that its not possible, as I'm a catholic and I dont follow the religion. Can someone please advise what does this mean and did I really see Prophet or was my mind just playing games? Thanks in advance. |

Hello brothers and sisters, Many incidences have been reported in the past where the Prophet has come in the dream of a non muslim who, after the dream having a profound effect it has had on them accepted Islam. If what you say is true, surely it is a sign from Allah and not heeding the sign will only put you in loss. Have a genuine Islamic shcolar interpret that dream as Muslims believe that dream's also contain various messages and interpretations. If you are in the UK,Shaykh Yusuf Motala(rector of Darul uloom Bury) is a most excellent choice to interpret your dream. By the way,the verses, you recited, was it in English? |

you counted 17 white hair on our beloved prophet Muhammad SAW's beard... This seems about right as the narrations state that he had around 20 white hair altogether, some say a bit more, some say a bit less.... so definitely inshallah you saw our beloved in the dream....may ALLAH guide us all....do pray also that I get a chance to see the beloved......carry on reading the verses that allowed u to see the dream...there are some ashiqs who would sacrifice everything to get 1 glimpse at the prophet SAW so you are very lucky....This is the blessings of durood usually...

Hello brothers and sisters, Off course its entirely possible for you to dream of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him) and thats good on you. Its a sign that you should seriously look into Islam as you read certain verses and your wish was granted by God-All-Mighty. This is a sign that God loves you because your wishes came true. Congrats on receiving a sign from God, hope to see you become Muslim and strengthen your relationship with your Creator which is much more important then your relationship with everyone else. |

dear sis angeleyez
if your dream is true then you have truely seen our Prophet Muhammad sallahu aliye wasalam in reality, the description you gave is almost the same of what others have seen the Prophet sallahu aliye wasalam in their spiritually awake and dream stages. Keep being selfless charitable the way you are, loving purity, being kind to the little ones, caring to the old, and affectionate to the poor and weak, wishing good to families and married people, and seeing fellow man in general in a positive light, loving simplicity in life and inclination to asceticism and feeling of affliation to the upper angelic dimensions, and yearning for God through all of that, as in those qualities which you have at heart, you will find Allah swt showing you mercy, and inshallah you will become a person higher in ranks than us, and upon the right path. from the clarity of your dream we dont worth even the strings of your shoes..may Allah show you to His light, and may you be of the closest ones to the Prophet Muhammad sallahu aliye wasalam, through the mashrab/spiritual stream of Sayidina 'Isa ibn Maryam alihesalam / Jesus Christ, and from the heart of the Prophet sallahu aliye wasalam you would experience and see Allah's beauty and glory. |

Salaam all!
Angeleyez, your dream seems very positive. In Islam, dreams are categorized into three types. 1) From Satan (bad dreams) 2) From your own self (confused dreams from your own thoughts and experiences) 3) From God (true dreams) The third type of dream is a true dream, and the difference between the last type and the other two is very clear - it is like starlight and moonlight. It is also confirmed in the hadith (the sayings of the Prophet Muhammed, peace be upon him) that whoever sees him in a dream really has seen him, because satan cannot impersonate him. Sometimes non-believers see the third type of dream because Allah wants to guide them through it. For example, the king at the time of Joseph (the prophet Yusuf, peace be upon him) who had a famous dream about 7 cows and 7 corns etc. And later on this king became Muslim. If you read the Chapter called Yusuf in the Quran, there are a few dreams mentioned - like the dream of Yusuf himself, and the prisoners he was with, who accepted Islam too, and the dream of the king. Also, the dream of the Prophet Abraham is mentioned in the Quran, where he was told to sacrifice his son Ismail (peace be upon them both). Also the dream of the Prophet Muhammed, peace be upon him, who saw that he entered Makkah and did the pilgrimage there in his dream, is mentioned in the Quran. It is not so uncommon for reverts to Islam to have good dreams. There are also some stories mentioned on this site about people who have been guided in this way: http://www.islamcan.com/cgi-bin/incr...65081188.shtml and http://www.islamcan.com/cgi-bin/incr...59516533.shtml And I personally know about a brother who studied Islam for some time then he saw a dream about the Prophet Muhammed peace be upon him, after that he converted. With regards to the specific details in your dream, there is an excellent book called 'Shamail Tirmidhi' which talks all about the Prophet Muhammed (Peace be upon him) and his physical characteristics. You can read it online here: http://www.inter-islam.org/hadeeth/stmenu.htm There is actually a chapter in that book about the white hair of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and you can read it here: http://www.inter-islam.org/hadeeth/st5.htm Here is one hadith from that chapter: Anas bin Maalik R.A. reports: "I did not count more than fourteen white hair on the head and beard of Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihe wasallam)". Commentary: Sayyidina Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihe wasallam) had very few white hair. There is some disagreement on the actual number. In this narration fourteen hairs are mentioned. In others, seventeen, eighteen, and in some, twenty white hairs are mentioned. This is a minor disagreement. The other ahaadith may have been related at different periods. A difference in the counting may also be possible. PS - the word 'Rasulullah' used by the author means simply 'Messenger of God' and it refers to Muhammed, peace be upon him. And here is another quote from here: http://bewley.virtualave.net/muh.html I really recommend you read that whole page for an excellent description of the Prophet (peace be upon him) His face was oval-shaped and he had a white complexion with a hint of brown in it. His forehead was broad and he had very long arched eyebrows with a gap between them where there was a vein which pulsated in moments of strong feeling. His eyes were black and wide set. He had long heavy eyelashes. His nose was aquiline and his mouth and lips were beautifully formed. His teeth, of which to took great care, were well set and would flash brilliant white when he smiled or laughed. He had broad even cheeks and a full thick black beard which had in it, at the time of his death, seventeen white hairs. His face was framed by luxuriant black hair which fell in waves to between his ears and shoulders, and which he would sometimes plait and sometimes let hang free. The translucence of his face was such that his anger or pleasure shone directly through it. His neck was neither short nor long and was the colour of silver mixed with gold. His hands had the texture of satin with broad palms and long fingers and they exuded a sweet scent which lingered on the things that he touched. His feet were high arched and his gait was like a man who walks down a slope with speed and modesty. So this is a confirmation of your dream. Your description of his hair and his smile also matches perfectly with the description of him in the hadith (check that book) and his physical characteristics. You really did see the Prophet, peace be upon him! Angeleyez, in my honest opinion, this is a clear and open invitation for you to accept Islam. This is a clear sign. Islam is sooo simple. In a nutshell: God is One, Unique, with no father, no son, and no wife or partner. He is Infinately Merciful. He sent prophets and messengers for the guidance of mankind, amongst many others; Moses, David, Jesus, and Muhammed, the last prophet (peace be upon them all). Angeleyez, if you believe this in your heart, then it is time for you to enter Islam right now. Just say "I testify that there is no god but God alone, and I testify that Muhammed is his messenger". If you say that and believe it, you are a Muslim!! Do it sis! We're all here to help you with any questions or problems you might have! Salam. |

Check the attached files in this post from an older thread on this topic: http://www.sunniforum.com/forum/show...5463#post65463 It is scans from a book and details a few methods described by the scholars. Here is the whole thread: http://www.sunniforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6005 May Allah Ta'ala increase us all in love for his Prophet (Peace be upon him and his family) and allow us to truly follow in his footsteps in all the affairs of our lives.
