A very enlightening share. The Shaykh is a very sober and knowledgeable person.

just finished watching, very good response matter of fact honest reply to genetic engineering [and the interviewer asked it great fikr too- i too have had such stupid ideas before]

May Allah SWT grant Ulamah e Deoband complete aafiyatt in this world and the next, summa aameen.

Also observe Hadrath's complete confidence in his responses - he was all relaxed and seemed to enjoy the conversation [like a father amused at his son's questions ]

but the interviewer was a good guy too...

I apologize in advance for offending people withj my post as i most probably will.

why do the Indian deobandies appear to reject the taliban (Afghan) while the Pakistani ones support them?

why all this living in the past when it comes to describing all the great achievements of Shaikhul Hind and his jihad, or the jihad of Maulana Qasim Nanutwi against the british and then in the same breath condemning the taliban? if the taliban are not on the deobandi approach when it comes to jihad against the americans then were maulana Qasim Nanutwi and Haji Imdadullah?

why does it seem like the indian "deobandies" are monopolizing the legacy of the akabireen and trying to promote a deobandism which explicitly requires condemning mujahideen as terrorists. I'm making this observation after hearing more than one speech by different Indian deobandies. why can't they adopt a more balanced approach like that of Dr. Zakir Naik on the matter?!?!?

Many Indian ulema have good stances on these issues. It is just that some ulema feel that hikmah is in distorting the truth rather then supporting the haq that is with jihad.

Being Deobandi do not automaticaly book you a ticket in jannat.

PS: This is a general statement not talking about this interview in particular.

Assalamu alaykum.

The answer is simple. The conditions in India are different. And the Indian ulema are in a better position to judge what is better for 20 crores Indian Muslims. Also in Pakistan majority of the ulema are not vocal regarding jihad.

So leave the ijtihad to locals.

Also just by discussing jihad (without shedding even a drop of blood from one's body in the whole life time) one will not get a ticket to jannah.

Sorry brother, you got it all wrong. Deobandis and Jihad are not some thing different.

I agree with you about what you said, nothing will guarentee ticket to jannah, just follow haq and that includes raising your voice/efforts for the ummah.

Duao ki darkhast

Some questions are better not asked.

Nami gardeed kotah rishta-e-ma'ani riha kardam
Hikayat bood bepayan, bakhamoshi ada kardam

When this puzzle thread did not shorten I released it
There were numerous stories, I related them silently

The couplet is from Ghani Kashmiri and was used by Allama Iqbal. It is being said that when the puzzle of meaning was not getting solved we just left it. Of course there were a thousand stories attached to it but we narrated them silently. This basically amounts to sabr.
