To tell you the truth, no one can really stay on Sunniforum permanently. Its quite possible that most of us will grow out of this in a few years, because something new will come up. Most people will stay on the forum for maybe 2-3 years, eventually they'll post less frequently, and finally they'll stop posting all together. Even the most dedicated member will one day grow out of this.

This brings a question to my mind, who's been on this forum the longest?

Alhamdulillah, many of you are talking about ikhlaas, but does it really come into the picture here in this case?
Lets analyze:

1) Workers of tabligh would know tashkeel is done in front of everyone - everyone knows the names of the people who are going in khurooj [naqad tashkeel] yet, the 5th point is ikhlaas - why is that? its so because it creates a culture of leaving in khurooj, ikhlaas doesn't come into the picture here.

Most importantly,

2) If Shaykh ul Islam Mufti taqi Usmani db, or Maulana Sa'ad db or Mufti Ibrahim Desai saheb db or Shaykh Riyadh ul Huqq db or Shaykh Zulfiqar Saheb db or Maulana Arshad Madani db or Imam Sudais db talk of a cause, visit a place, recommend a book, wouldn't we hop onto the boat ourselves?

Now if I make the poll anonymous - which means nobody knows who's in and who isn't in , yet, how are the others to get motivated, how are the others going see the wisdom esp. since almost all of you have agreed that the reasons are good enough...

for ex. yours truly will see who all have voted in the poll, and I find Ahmed, afrikihuqq, dr76, abu hamza, a.s, servant of Allah, samy3660, seekeress, danyalm & syamuj and I'll think this looks great, I'm on!

Perhaps, this poll doesn't require a 'No' ........just a 'Yes' to know who is in.

The question is if the man in the audience was not addressing the Shaykh nor any of the audience , to whom was he addressing?

Strange question Syyedi. Infinity is the name given for unknown. We Muslims do not bang our heads on that.

Given the population of internet users and the amount of false information, disinformation and misinformation,

You need 100 sunni forums, so arguing whether one remains on one is pretty moot

in my lowly opinion.

Since Sidi Pluto has asked me twice he should read my reply below that many times.

Coming to SF might be taken as khurooj (excursion) in the path of Allah (SWT).
If we accept that then we can also coin the phrase that once an SFer always an SFer.

On the other hand coming to SF might be taken like coming to a Madrasa. In that case you come here, make the best of it and then move to your responsibilities. With that attitude you can occasionally drop by at later times.

The trouble is that both of these points of view do not capture the complete reality - not that we can make any claim to comprehension of all reality.

One aspect that is not captures by above two attitudes is that there is a family-ness that has already appeared at SF. Now that is a different ball game. You do not leave your family.

There is a solution to this problem too. Just think that you had shifted to the house of your Khala (mother's sister) for one, two or three years course in the other town.

And of course those people who make SF their permanent abode, and of necessity there must be some people in that category, they deserve our special thanks and gratitude.

And the fact that we have the present thread is a sign of the sentiments that we are thankful to them.

Some compare forum to madrassah and some to some other spiritual thing. All this really makes me worried why I am here. huh
I wish Allah SWT make my intention pure and make me too some useful kind here or I should say make me too benefit from here.
