Again, read Surat al-Mumtahinah.

Whoever is an enemy to Allah and His angels and His messengers and Gabriel and Michael - then indeed, Allah is an enemy to the disbelievers. 2:98. The context concerns the Jews.

Allah is the ally of those who believe. He brings them out from darknesses into the light. And those who disbelieve - their allies are Taghut. They take them out of the light into darknesses. Those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide eternally therein. 2:257.

Allah is the ally of the believers and the allies of the disbelievers are Taghut (false gods). Does Allah love Taghut? Does Allah love Fir'aun (the best example of a Taghut)?

And prepare against them whatever you are able of power and of steeds of war by which you may terrify the enemy of Allah and your enemy and others besides them whom you do not know [but] whom Allah knows. And whatever you spend in the cause of Allah will be fully repaid to you, and you will not be wronged. 8:60

The words 'Enemy of Allah' are used (in the translation) quite often in the Qur'an.

^The above is about the enemies of Allah being driven into the Fire. The disbelieving nations are mentioned explicitly.

And the request of forgiveness of Abraham for his father was only because of a promise he had made to him. But when it became apparent to Abraham that his father was an enemy to Allah , he disassociated himself from him. Indeed was Abraham compassionate and patient. Does Allah Love those who are enemies to Him?

EDIT- I just realized I forgot to link you to al-Mumtahinah.

Salaam brother..

I dont disagree that Allah is an enemy to the disbelievers in the context of the Quran, or that Pharoah is not a loser archetype, or that anyone should not disassociate himself with an enemy of Allah..

but

Allah does not love everyone. ?

Is a different question, dont you think brother ? Especially in the context of dealing with others in day to day life.

That since "it became apparent to Abraham that his father was an enemy to Allah" then this only shows we are not aware of the "apparant" status of people, except when blatantly "by concensus" obvious, but in day to day matters, we too would disassociate with such unsavoury charachters.

So we are talking about people we talk to. In that context, you dont think Allah loves everyone? So that equally you want the best for that everyone, no matter if they are percievd to be "modenist" or "salfist" or "misguided" or even "atheist" or "Christian".

Didnt Allah love everyone to the extent, so that he Created everyone with Free will and gave them a choice ? Isnt that proof that Allah loves everyone. ?

Salaam, and looking forward to continue this discussion, inshallah

"Glorified be God with a glory remote from all representations of him", say the Muslims.
Remote from the representation of a good man writ large, remote from the image of human fatherhood lifted
to a higher plane and infinitely remote from the Dear Old Man in the Sky.
Being human, we have need of images as rungs of a ladder leading to That which is without image, incomparable; but when we
take these provisional supports too literally and draw final conclusions from them we enter the region of the absurd.
