All Muslims agree that we should devote more time to the Qur’aan in all facets of it:
And yet everyone is busy, what are some of the practical steps which can be taken for (us busy people) to develop attachment to the Qur'aan. Before reply to this thread, please keep two things in mind:

Instead of sitting on SF, use that same time in your daily schedule to recite the Qur'an.

How about fixing a specific time for recitation?

As this is regarding all facets of the our relationship with the Quran, I'd say read translation/tafsir every weekend at least...

Should Tafseer/Translation be read sequentially or just pick up and read from wherever? |

Reciting at least half a juzz of Quran daily should be firmly followed be it any part of the day. And one should never go to bed without fulfilling this. Allahu alam |

In a running program you set a time limit and not distance because as you get fitter you cover more distance in the same time so if someone sets lets say 15 minutes they will cover more Qur’aan as they get more fluent so isn’t it better to set a timeframe rather than the content (to cover)? http://discussworldissues.com/forums...lies/jazak.gif |

Well that was recommended by my sheikh. I think when we fix to some minimum content, as time goes, this can be increased as one gets more attached to the Quran but one should be keen that one reads atleast 1/2 a juzz every day. This will have its own barakah if we are steadfast but the same can be said about fixing time too may be. And as far as time, if I am too tired, I kind of recite slowly and take more time to recite 1/2 a juzz. So it all depends on the person. Anyways different things work for different people. Some can fix the time and some the content. As long as we get the tawfeeq to recite Quran everyday then Alhamdulillah. The main thing is to remain steadfast on whatever we decide I think. 1. a. For all those who can recite, atleast 1 para should be daily recited (with Tajweed) by fixing a time. Usually, this should be done immediately after Fajr Salat. It brings barakah in abundance for the entire day. Make sure to complete the enitre Quraan recitation in max of 40 days. b. For those who cannot recite, should spend the same amount of time required to learn recitation with Tajweed. 2. Regarding Tafseer. Suppose the President of China visits UK and addresses the public in Chinese Language. Every comman man in UK would be curios enough for translation. As a Muslim, how can we ignore the Last Words of our Lord and recite it daily in our Salah, invocations, Adhkaar etc. Tafseer of atleast those portion of Quraan should be known to every Muslim which he\she recites in his\her salaat |

First and foremost Ask Allah SWT for taufeeq and give love of Quran to you. My shyakh recommended playing quran recitation in the background while on your pc, i've found that it keeps by blinders up during browsing sessions and infact have reduced my online time. Iisten to quran during household chores, exercising, daily commute, join a quran class ( even if for an hour a week ) to keep your motivation up. Nice thread. http://discussworldissues.com/forums...es/wasalam.gif |
