Default Need Help and Advice
Assalamu 'Alaikum

I recently became a Muslim in January of this year and it has been an eventful couple of months. I would like to discuss a couple of sensitive issues with any of the learnt Brothers in the forum.

Assalam alikum wa rahmat Allah,

My dear brother, this is my brotherly advice. for the moment please do not get involved in ideologicall discussion until you get grounded in religion of Allah. If you put good effort it will take you about two years to master basics of islam so you can practice independantly. Learn the general belief system of Islam, learn reading quran in arabic. Finish taalim ul haq carefully with a knowledgable brother preferably in masjid., learn various duas for different occasions, learn various dhikrs, make sure you do regularly your sunnah, nafl, tahajjud, and dhikr study pertenant issues from "ask imam" continiously keep in touch with sunni forum. To do all these whatever mosque offer you help go there and get help. May Allah SWT fill your heart with eiman and protect you and me from sheitan ameen

Assalamu 'Alaikum

I recently became a Muslim in January of this year and it has been an eventful couple of months. I would like to discuss a couple of sensitive issues with any of the learnt Brothers in the forum.

I need clarification on many things. There are two Masajid in my locale a salafiyyah masjid and another one that the Salafi masjid said is on bidah. I have been attending and receiving information, rulings etc from this salafyyah masjid and since becoming a member of this forum I have been wondering if I have become an unwitting follower of something that will not benefit me.

Barakullah feek
Wa alaikum assalaam bro. Welcome to Islam

Right to the point, salafiyya is a bit problematic. They say the Islam of the previous scholars of Hanafi, shafi'i etc are wrong. Which is a bit over the top. I would suggest you to avoid them and as brother yoldash said do not engage in any ideological discussion with them.

The best thing for you to do is to learn the basics of Islam like Salah, Fastin(Ramadan is coming soon ) etc. Find a good hanafi imam so that he can teach you Salah. If you have any doubts please post here itself, there are many knowledgable people here you will be able to help you InshaAllah.

Maybe I didnt communicate clearly, I had wished to discuss my issues in private because i would have liked to avoid unnecessary discourse about the salafyyah movement that wasnt directly related to my issues.

I need clarification on everything Islamic that I would have learnt as well as rulings I would have gotten concerning marriage, sustenence and other things.

I hope I was clear this time as I dont like to waste people's time.

My country is very small and I am not sure how to approach the other Masjid. I do not want to jump from the frying pan into the fire

Just like the other brothers suggested, you should primarily focus on learning the basics of your Deen and for the time being avoid these types of discussions, as you might be biting off more than you can chew. Here is a link to a site run by authentic ulama. You can read different questions and answers that may be related to you and your situation. Like this one:

Perhaps if you mention your country you will find some members here who will be able to help or point to the right direction. We have members from many places here.

Or just ask your queries in here. A lot of the members are capable of giving detailed answers to your queries. We also have a few scholars who visit the forums often if you have complex queries.

Alhumdolillah that you have been blessed to enter the fold of Islam and that is indeed the highest blessing. We are here to serve you to the best of our ability. You can post your questions in the sensitive section (on the forum) OR you can email us on http://central-mosque.com/ and we can discuss your comcerns in private and escalate your needs to an Islamic Scholar (as well if required).

I am sorry I dont understand what you are suggesting. Because I am not seeking to enter into any debate or discussion I just wanted a person who is knowledgeable in Islam to candidly address my concerns and correct what needs correcting.

Is it that I do not know have enough islamic knowledge to discuss my issue with someone or is it that i dont know what my most important issues should be my focus? Such as the basics of my deen?

But this discussion no longer benefits either of you all so it is best to ignore it. I will find my way with the link and associated resources you all have provided.

I pray Allah swt blesses each of you abundantly, strengthens your hearts and protects your families. Ameen

Bye

You can also post your queries in private as the MOD Rahmaniyyah suggested.

Brother abu welcome to islam. You are taking the right step not to discuss issues in public, do as is feasable to you, either have a private discussion with brother hardstone @ central mosque website or use the thread that is created for you by brother rehmaniyah.

Remember us in your duas.
