Assalamu'alaykum,
I have learnt so much from the bayans of Shaykh Husain Abdul-Sattar and Shaykh Kamaluddin Ahmed but after doing lots of research I cannot find much written material, be it in the form of blogs, web sites, books, etc. in the English language. Does anyone know of anything out there? Alhamdulillah, there is SO much information out there in English related to the Ashrafiyah silsila, and much of it has inspired me and taught me many things. However, because of my love for the Naqshbandi Mujaddi tariqah I would love to learn more about what this tariqah teaches before I make any further decisions such as whether to give bayah, etc. Jazakhallahu khair, Zahid |

ASA. If you have heard Shaykh Hussein Abdul Sattar(db) and Shaykh Mufti Kamaluddin Saheb(db) then you probably have access tothe following websites:
http://www.tasawwuf.org/ http://www.sacredlearning.org/ Both of them are mashaAllah great mashaikh of their time. They are Khulefa(representatives) of Hazrat Maulana Peer Zulfiqar Ahmed Naqshbandi Mujjadadi. You can find more information on Hazrat Saheb on these websites. His lectures are also available online. He has written several books on tasawwuf. One of my favorite works is Tasawwuf wa Saluk. You can find them on http://www.faqirpublications.com/ some of them in pdf format and others you can order online. Some of his highly recommended works are Love for Allah, Love for the Prophet(sallahu alayhi wasallam) and Wisdom for the Seeker: Letters of Advice. http://www.tasawwuf.org/writings/index.htm http://www.tasawwuf.org/basics/index.htm http://www.tasawwuf.org/basics/what_tasawwuf.htm http://www.tasawwuf.org/audio/index_urdu.htm http://www.tasawwuf.org/audio/index_english.htm Hazrat Saheb's books are available almost everywhere in Pakistan, Islamabad, Karachi, lahore, Faisalabad, jhung(his home town) and other places. The contact info is available online. Wassalam. |

ASA and once you have read more about the silsila and are ready to take bayah then just email tasawwuf.org and they will help you get in touch with one of the representatives. My personal advice in this case would be to get in touch with Maulana Kamaluddin. He is based in Lahore and is a professor at Lahore University of Management sciences. MashaAllah he is an extremely enlightened scholar and has ijaza to formally teach the science of tasawwuf to muridain. He has several students all over the world and has been a source of guidence for many. Not only is he is a shaykh of tasawwuf but is also a mufti from darul uloom deoband karachi and possesses great knowledge of the Sahriah and sunnah. Anyone who sits in his company feels as if their heart has been washed.

Jazakhallahu khair for all the responses.
Subhanallah, I completely forget to mention that I've read almost everything on Tasawwuf.org. I meant to write that in my post. I have also listened to many of the audios on that that web site and on sacredlearning.org. I have also read Shaykh Zulfiqar Ahmed's book, "Love of Allah", which was very inspirational, alhamdulillaah, and am currently reading "Wisdom for the Seeker". However, as far as I can see, there is no other books in English published which I can get hold of. Everything else seems to be in Urdu which I do not understand. Are there any other resources which I may have missed? Wassalaam, Zahid |

Tasawwuf wa Sulook is available in English. Simply email faqir publications. Contact them and inquire about more English translations, quite a few are being translated. "Ba Adab ba Naseeb" has been translated in English and is available by the name "Be courteous be Blessed".
Tasawwuf.org can help you get in touch with one of Hazrat's khalifas in your country/city. Joining a halaqa(circle) is beneficial. It keeps one posted on upcoming events. Having access to a Shaykh is better than having access to books and tapes alone. |

Jazakhallahu khair sister! I didn't know these were translated, really appreciate you telling me.
I don't think there are any of Hazrat's Khalifas in the UK but I will ask and see what is recommended. I agree 100% that is better to have access to a Shaykh than simply books and tapes. Slave of Allah, jazakhallahu khair for the link. The article on basics was a very good read mashallah! Wassalaam, Zahid |

Jazakhallahu khair sister! I didn't know these were translated, really appreciate you telling me. Maulana Saleem Dhorat (Leicester) & Maulana Bahauddin Naqshbandi (Birmingham) are both Khaleefas of Maulana Naeemullah (Lahore) who is the Khaleefa of Maulana Ghulam Habeeb (RA) in the Naqshbandi-Mujaddidi Silsila. Maulana Bahauddin Naqshbandi spend a considerable time in his youth with Hazrat in Africa & then in UK. Maulana Salman (Coventry) who was Maulana Ghulam Habeeb (RA)'s Khaleefa recently passed away...I think there may be some of Hazrat's Khaleefas in Bolton/Blackburn. Maulana Abdur-Raheem (DB) son of Maulana Ghulam Habeeb (RA) gave Khailafa to another Maulana in Bolton/Blackburn in the Silsila during his last visit to UK (last year) and I think his name is Maulana Abid. You can details from: http://www.idauk.org/ I highly recommend that you go SEE Maulana Saleem Dhorat (Leicester) OR Maulana Bahauddin Naqshbandi (Birmingham) in person and discuss your questions. P.S: They both have 2 DISTINCT personalities & are different to Shaykh Riyadhul-Haq (who is junior to both of them)...&see who suits you better. |

Sidi Muadh,
Jazakhallahu for that information. I have attended a few talks in London delivered by Maulana Saleem Dhorat and SO love him for the sake of Allah. Without a doubt, he's a deeply spiritual individual! Inshallah, I would LOVE to spend time with him but because of my personal commitments it is not easy for me to travel to Leicester, even though it is not hard to get there from London. At one point, I even thought about attending the Darul Uloom where he teaches, but unfortunately because of my family obligations this is not possible. I read that there is a Khalifah of Maulana Naeemullah in London called Maulana Hafiz Mumtaz-Ul-Haq Malik. Does that ring any bells? I couldn't find any information on Google. Inshallah, I will continue praying Istikharah and making dua. Please pray for me too! Wassalaam, Zahid |

salamy `alaykum
Shaykh Nuh mentioned this once: Hasan Lutfi Shushud. Masters of Wisdom of Central Asia. Tr. Muhtar Holland. Moorcote (Yorkshire): Coombe Springs Press, 1983. (A powerful English rendering of a hagiography of early Naqshbandi masters that contains much Sufism and useful lessons in both the form of the path and its content, its manners (adab) and experience (dhawq).) |

Assalamu'alaykum,
I've been talking to a local brother and apparently there is a Darul Uloom called Jamia Siraj ul-Uloom (Lantern of Knowledge) quite close to where I live where some of the teachers have close links to Maulana Saleem Dhorat as well as Hazrat Yusuf Motola. Inshallah I will be attending their weekly dhikr circle next Thursday and discuss my situation with them. I've also been invited to visit Maulana Saleem Dhorat in January with one brother. However, this brother insists that Maulana follows the Chisti not the Naqshbandi tariqah so I'm a little confused there. I've been studying and practicing the advice of the Shaykh Zulfiqar Ahmad and Shaykh Husain Abdul Sattar, should I be worried about "switching" to a different tariqah?? Jazakhallahu khair, Zahid |

hmm... Try contacting the folks at the link below. They are Murids of Shaykh Nuh Ha Mim Keller and host a weekly gathering of dhikr and to listen to Shaykh Nuh's latest dars. As per the Shaykh's instruction, they should have separate accommodations for sisters, as well as for sisters with young children. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/West_London_Majlis/ (if W. London is far for you, they may know of another circle closer.) |
