why is it my husband wants me to wear no makeup not to wear nice clothes or look nice even for myself!! In Islam we all encouraged to look pleasant, even if it is just for ourselves (NB: pleasant does not equal enticing). |

I think its time i had a divorce and married someone who is not backward in his thinking. you need to change your thinking....him wanting you to cover up is a sign of him honouring you, your beauty is something special which should only be shared with mahrams...why are you giving strange men the pleasure of seeing you? |

no i am a muslim but i have my own independence thanks but can you not be judgemental i am what i am not something you think i should be... have you taken a minute to think about why he must have said these things to you? Did you realize he cares for you and loves you and doesn't want others to take you away from him or other men looking at you? Did you talk to him about this issue? And I am pretty sure your not revealing the full story here. He probably does not want you to wear revealing clothes; not just good clothes in general. |

From your posts that I have read it sounds like you are not happy with the fact that your husband can't give you kids, it is the underlying problem here. Everything else will seem very difficult from here on end. Your general unhappiness with him is only going to grow if you don't keep it in check and understand that it is the will of Allah.
As far as divorce is concerned it is your right if it is for the above reason only. None of the other stuff are valid excuses imo. |

strange
Husband is not giving permission to do make up and he saying to do Hijab for these small reason you are decided to take divorce its strange sister Allah ke nabi sallahualyhiwassalam ne farma jiska mafum he :- agar Allah ke baad agar kisi ke samne sajde ka hukm agar aata to wo shohar ke samne sajda hota. AAllah ke nabi sallahualyhiwassalam ne farma jiska mafum he:- Agar tumara shohar din raat kahe aur raat ko din to tum iski haa me haa milao. aur meri sister tumara shohar tume Deen ke aitabaar se make up karne mana kar raha he aur hijab karne keh raha he aur isko use haq he aur tum deeni mamlat ke reason se divorce lena chah rahi ho to aap socho aap ky decision le rahe ho. Allah ne Divorce ko halal to kiya lekin ye jo hukm allah ne nazil kiya yahi hukm allah ko pasand b nahi. Yani Talaq allah ko pasand nahi. I feel you should attend ladies ijtema's try to learn some islamic things if its possible read Islamic books like Fazaile Aamal aur any other and last my request is go in 3 days jamat with your hubby |

strange Brother Shahid. Do you really think that Islam plays any role in her thinking or in her life? Her/his posts are the posts of a Mulhid. Allahu 'Alam. |

Well people are very different in the way they see things. My family was never into all these make up things and I am not even interested in learning these skills. Anyway what I want to add is that I have seen women looking very pleasing and a strange beauty reflecting from them without all these make ups maashaaAllah but merely because of their character like patience, forbearance, peaceful in nature, humble talks and religiousness irrespective of their age or color. Perhaps its the inner beauty. I see all these make up things look too artificial on women and I am not quite impressed with that. I do not know what impact it leaves on men though. One thing for sure is more the women come along with modesty, she looks more beautiful for how truthful are the words of the Prophet SAW, "And modesty is never part of anything, except that it beautifies it." So a woman who covers her face out of modesty looks more beautiful than the one who leaves the face open with all the make up. I heard in a bayan of sheikh Maulana Abdus Sattar (DB) to the effect that aforetime the bride wakes up for tahajjud prior to the wedding day to beautify her face with the special noor and nowadays even the women from noble families go to beauty parlours. I am not trying to make a point if going to beauty parlours are allowed or not but for sure it was looked down before and even today some families keep away from that. All these make up things have been promoted too much and unfortunately many muslim women have fallen for it. I really wish we women pay more attention to our akhlaaq and deen for the beauty it brings can never be matched with anything artificial. Khair I will leave this thread with a beautiful duaa taught by our Prophet SAW, "O Allah! assist us with knowledge, embellish us with forbearance, dignify us with piety and beautify us with peace." Ameen |
