When you give Dawa tailor your words to the person you are talking to.

I have listened to muslims trying give Dawa to non muslims who know nothing about Islam.

In their presentation they are talking about the Sahaba, Rasul, Iman, masjid, taqwa, etc.

Plus, peppering it with Alhamdulilah, Inshallah, and other Islamic term of expression.

While the non muslim just sits there politely with their eyes glazing over. Because they don't have a clue what is being said.


It's very important that you speak to them using the words and terms they understand in their language.

For example, don't say Sahaba; use something like "best friends".

Or don't say Rasul; believe me they don't know that word. Use Muhammad instead.


Your Dawa efforts will be much more effective if you apply this little piece of advise.

This is also a principle which is taught in the effort of dawah & tabligh, to know the situation and the person your talking to, so the dawah can be more effective

I concur.
In fact whole of the Deen is about common sense.
Our common sense gets clouded by our social environment and major struggle of life is to liberate ourselves from the man made obfuscation of our common sense.

Yes, even a da'ee can fall into many traps of the devil, its not all goody good always, how to defend against them, how to do dawah, and other brilliant stuff is what is contained in that book, that book can also be called a real dawah tabligh manual.

I'm surprised the senior brothers here haven't recommended it...

Anyways, I'm waiting for Sir Revert2001's response.

Sir, you are TRUE royalty, for someone to have stayed steadfast on the truth despite 9/11 when Muslims themselves have either abandoned the faith or like to conceal it, addressing you as 'Sir' is but a small gesture of respect from my side

While your dawah among the non-Muslims is to be greatly appreciated Alhamdulillah, please do set aside some time to give dawah to us Muslims too, make them aware of their responsibilities too, esp. among the modernists secularists amongst us.

In my humble opinion some of the Qualities of true daiee encapsulated by the Sahab (RAD)
1. Sincere 2. humble 3. modest (in all sense) 4. Strict adherent to Shariah in matters related to self 5. Abid (not just 5 times prayer but has adkar in tounge and in the heart & regular in Tahajud Salat 6. Empathy 7. good judge of self and situation 8. intense in their love of Allah and his Rasul

There is no one way of doing dawah but some are more effective depending on the situation. Often a socalled daiee does more harm to self in his activity, resulting from lack of realisation of self. One does dawah for sole pleasure of Allah and not to feed self ego.
