“Abul Hayyaj al-Asadi told that Ali Ibn Abu Talib said to him: Should I not send you on the same mission as Allah's Messenger [peace be upon him] sent me? Do not leave an image without obliterating it, or a high grave without leveling it. This hadith has been reported by Habib with the same chain of transmitters and he said:[ do not leave] a picture without obliterating it.”
( Sahih Muslim; Narrated by Ali Ibn Abu Talib) |

Those who do not understand something should not pass judgment on it. This trick of saying that "you don't understand anything" is an old one used by the Ahl al Bida' to continue doing what they want to do. Put your money where your mouth is. |

Shirk indeed is the biggest sin in Islam. It is the sin that Allah (SWT) will not forgive. The Holy Quran says
“Allah forgiveth not that partners should be set up with Him; but He forgiveth anything else, to whom He pleaseth; to set up partners with Allah is to devise a sin Most heinous indeed.” (Quran 4:48) “Allah forgiveth not (The sin of) joining other gods with Him; but He forgiveth whom He pleaseth other sins than this: one who joins other gods with Allah, Hath strayed far, far away (from the right).” (Quran 4:116) “Behold, Luqman said to his son by way of instruction: "O my son! join not in worship (others) with Allah. for false worship is indeed the highest wrong-doing." (Quran 31:13) “They do blaspheme who say: "(Allah) is Christ the son of Mary." But said Christ: "O Children of Israel! worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord." Whoever joins other gods with Allah,- Allah will forbid him the garden, and the Fire will be his abode. There will for the wrong-doers be no one to help.” (Quran 5:72) |

As-Salamu-Alaykum,
I think I came across this in some book kept at home (though I can't remember clearly). The book was in Urdu I think (and my Urdu is not that strong). 1) What is to be done with such books (that contain this)? 2) On a different topic, at home we have this frame with "Ya Allah", "Ya Muhammad", "Ya Ali", and "Ya Abdul Qadir" written on it. Under "Ya Allah", the Names of Allah are written (preceded by "Ya"); under "Ya Muhammad", I think they have written the names of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), preceded by "Ya"; under "Ya Ali", I think they have written the names of Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), preceded by "Ya"; under "Ya Abdul Qadir", I think they have written the names of Shaykh Abdul Qadir (preceded by "Ya"). There is some Urdu text at the beginning (top) and end (bottom) of the frame...I am having trouble understanding what is written (since my Urdu is weak) but I could make out that the text at the beginning was talking about calling upon Allah and making tawassul. Please advise on this. Jazaak Allah Khayr. Wassalamu Alaykum. |

As-Salamu-Alaykum, Does anyone have any advice on this subject? Should I be worried about the frame? What should I do with the book(s) mentioned in question (1)? Wassalamu Alaykum. |

How does one go about doing that? Do I give it to someone? On the one hand, I am scared that if there is any shirk/kufr involved, then I shouldn't keep it in the house (and this frame is kept next to the Holy Qur'an). On the other hand, I am scared that if I have misunderstood something, and there is no kufr/shirk involved, but that it only talks about tawassul, then by not keeping it, I might have caused disrespect to Islamic literature. I am quite confused. Wassalamu Alaykum. |
