what are you looking for ...ideas for what the app will do?
Well need some ideas what should be incorporated in the app, so it helps the Da'ee.

Already mentioned stuff

JazakAllah interesting. So have a menu item visible on the bottom of the page as icons.

Items are:

1. calender
2. Map
3. List
4. Todo
5. Resources

The map feature needs to be integrated as part of the contact details or possibly with location markers that link back to a specific person/house and opens up details about that location i.e. the marker has a hover with a tip 'lasted visited xx/xx/xxxx' and clicking will open up to a notes page.

Resources could allow the access of various online resources or even access to kitabs or fatwas. Possibly even training material for a di'e.
What else should we add....?

I m from India, I too don't have an idea how things work. I have not done any Dawah unfortunately.

Edit: Map function would help The da'ee to remember the persons place he is going visit. I think they might go around visiting a number of people every week. So the Gps position in the map will come in handy i guess.

TODO and CaLENDER can be one function. For ex: When we open CALENDER we get the TODO's of everydate.
In the LIST , we should have profiles of our brothers which shows information like his address , last met him (date), he needs (whatever he req. for) .

The easier the interface they better the app

The app should also allow us to save certain things as tags that can be searched later. For example, i have 56 profiles of brothers working at some place. One brother works at 'XYZ Hospital'. The app should allow us to search for #XYZ hospital and we should get all the brothers working at this place. This will allow us to find mutual contacts or redirect the person to other person so that they get to know each other.
I hope i am able to express what my point was. IF its unclear , keep on reading until you get what i mean.

Not really sure why some brothers went on a tangent and ironically there was some debate about the use of technology and using it for the deen on an internet forum.... any ways

You will see that the app makes no mention of any specific dawah group and is not for any group or individual specifically except me . I build things for my own purpose and for what I believe I will be able to reap reward for when I am dead, period!

The issue of emailing something and then getting caught out, etc is just comical from my perspective but a serious issue. However we live in times where everything is data logged so one should be conscious about what they say and do since you actions can be immortalised in 'youtube, facebook. Google cache, etc'.

Therefore any more suggestions on the app development?

All that the app intends to do already exists and people still do i.e. write and email feedback, share contact details without permission of the owner, etc. All this app does is facilitate these into one centralised location for better management.

As already suggested by hazratji, the Todo list and the calendar can be integrated if needed. Calender covering half of the screen and the to do list below. Might work.

JazakAllah. maybe you should get scribbling on a napkin to show me how it will look

Yep, taking all of these suggestions and making a mental map of how it will work; so keep them coming. The initial version needs to be simple really.

jotting more notes down:

The use of a app that shares contact details is controversial, however integrating features like a facebook app will grant permission of that sharing feature [it is a work around on how it can be done with the explicit permission of the 3rd party] - Just an idea not solidified yet.

The display off four elements on one screen maybe to cluttered for smaller phones, therefore I am think a tab feature that slides across 2/3/4 screens splitting the content. Or there is an initial screen displaying the choices for 'person 1' and then the user selects timeline, map, notes, progress, etc.

OK will map out a version one using screen shots and take the development from there.

Bro Gabriel,

I would want the app to categorize visits to brothers. Since Dawah is for our own self, I would want to view the visits by categories like

1. Dawah
2. Ayadath
3. Khidmath

Dawah could be expanded further to dawah of 6 points and that can be further expanded. For ex if I have given dawah to a brother for 3 days khurooj, I should be able to navigate to Dawah -> Dawah Ilallah -> 3 days.

This will ensure that I am giving dawah on all aspects and hence improving myself. At the end of a long day I should be able to sit and do muhasabah of my amal.

This may be very specific but thats what I need badly now.

There should be a button where you can make voice notes, as usually people cant type that fast or are in a hurray. the use of a recorder to makes notes will be extremel valuable. By the way is this app for an expereienced dawaee or a newbie? because you can introduce some configuration and adjust to different levels e.g begginer, mediuim , expereienced. you can also include quotes...

What I was trying to say is that when we are logging visits( Dawah ) in the app, there should be a provision where we could classify them.

Something like :

Salah Dawah - Should include details of brothers who were visited with the intention of inviting towards Salah
Khurooj Dawah - Should include details of brothers who were visited with the intention of inviting towards khurooj. This can also be further expanded into 3 days, 40 days etc. ( This is specific to Tableegh )

Hope I was able to explain myself a little bit better this time.

I will integrate category listing so you can manually add
