Yousaf Ali's translation of Quran is not to be used for any kind of study or reference. I discarded it on first read after discovering his cardinal mistake of wrongly translating the 7th verse of the very first Surah Fatiha, the opening of the Quran itself. He has totally misinterpreted the verse by saying "who go not astray" rather then saying "those who went astray" which is what actually meant in the verse.
A person who can do this is not any kind of scholar or even a student. I recomend that your forum should ban Yousaf Ali and also inform all others of his full of errors translation. |

Pickthall was Sunni whilst Yusuf Ali was apparently otherwise. If people who only speak English want to check on meanings then there are many good commentaries translated into English. I like this one http://www.azharacademy.com/Scripts/...idproduct=1973 |
