Assalam Alaikum! I need to ask whether a muslim can hang a windchime at home, with just the intention of decoration. Actually, I liked windchimes alot, and the sound of it as well, and had planned to hang one at home, but I read somewhere that it is not allowed for muslims. Can anyone clarify this to me, please? Jazak Allah khair !! |

wind-chimes mostly do sound nice and it they have a pleasant harmonic it can be relaxing
but some sound pretty awful and can be very annoying to neighbours etc... also wind-chimes are in many ways similar to wind blown bells and there is a "bell is the flute of Shaytaan” hadith narrated in both Sahih Muslim and the Sunan of Abu Dawud. best to ask a scholar of the school of thought that you follow on permissibility of wind-chimes. |
