I don't know I am in a pretty bad situation my self. I would definately advicing going to study if your able to. My problem is that I really want to study abraod intesively for about ten years, but I don't think my dad would ever consent to it I do not what to do. Because one thing you have to remember "every soul is will taste death" (Quran) and if we waste our time in university for five years what if it turns out that our death was decreed straight after we have our degree, then our degree would be pointless and we should learnt our deen so we would be ready for death. What do you think I should do in my situation? Inshallah I will post a thread about the full details of my situation.

Salaam. i dont want to sound rude and ignorant but education is deeni education. However this dosent mean you cant pursue a career in your specific field. How about doing both of them ? Why not study engineering or whatever discipline and study islamic sciences with the scholars within the current country you reside in. Far to often people drop everything and wish to study at an Islamic University. They seem to ignore the people who have successfully achieved success by studying both deen and also pursing a career in the Dunya. My advice to you is not to take the apaprent eas way out, but rather do both your desired degree and study at the feet of the scholars. you may think this is hard but isnt work hard anyway?

yes, toronto. http://www.mathabah.org/ Keep yourself in the company of Shaykh Yusuf Badat and Shaykh 'Omar Subedar [and you can ask them for any other scholars if you wish]. I forgot what Masjid they are Imams at, but it might be something like IFT - Islamic Foundation of Toronto. Wallahu a'lam. |

If you can do the dunya studies, then part time deen studies are good too. And when you finish your degree you can do the alim course. |

I like that idea a lot because my Hifz teacher told me that you could do a part time alim course and then do the last few years in a well know Madrasah such as Drewsbrey. But the problem with that is the Alim course is about 6-7 years and if I was to do it part time whilst doing my 4 year accounting degree I would probably only be able to complete 2 years of the actual full time course, which means I will have to try and complete the last 3-4 years part time whilst being married as I intend to get married after university. Also practical speaking I may not every get the opportuniy to complete the last years in well known madrasah or finish it abroad full time for about 2 years, because I will have to take to years of work. And if you got student loan and family it could be hard to finance it, also when you come back you might not have lost your job because you have not worked for a long time and lost your skills.

we have to study Deen first and basically what we have to do is first we become expert in Deen matters - understand Quran with tafseer - learn basics of Haram and Halal and afterward live our life in accordance with Deen
but we have to go along with Dunya as well - this doesnt mean we get addicted to worldly pleasures , no , all our life , in each and every second we have to thank and worship ALLAH , but going along with Dunya is very Important also - we Muslims would have been the most successful and advanced people by now if we would have lived our life in accordance with Quran unfortunately we were divided , and that divide and rule policy was introduced by enemies of Islam - so today you will see muslims fight amongst each other by such small issues like , Mawlid is permissible or not , Allah is on sky only or he is everywhere ? ( Salafi - Sunni ) , etc etc - and the most worst of all is that we are taking being divided as normally ![]() |
