I thought Hizb al-Tahrir was just an Islamic political movement, now I am hearing they have differences in 'Aqeedah??? how strange.
Unfortunately they have. And this is sad.

assalamu alaykum

I Was wondering how favourably hizb ut tahrir are viewed to the deobandi community?

My own analysis is that they do good by spreading awareness of khilafah but they are usually quite neglectful of deen. I dont know enough about them though and wondered how they are viewed by the deobandis in general

HT was one of the first Islamic groups I was influenced by and started to practice Islam properly since then. So alhamdulilah I benefited from them a lot in that way. The brothers I was with were ma'sha'Allah some of the most active I've seen in enjoining good and forbidding evil throughout their daily routine. I found their political activeness regarding events in the Muslim world really good as its not something that we can just ignore. A lot practicing people are stuck in this false way of thinking that leadership will just be given overnight if Muslims start praying more often and increase in other ritual ibadah, but thats not in accordance with the Prophetic method. So a group like HT are good for drawing people away from that way of thinking and to actually practically start trying to implement Islam.

Having said that there are a lot of errors in the group generally speaking. They have a very very soft stance towards the Shia, they had even approached the Iranian priest Khomeini to establish Khilafah who didnt even want to know them. They have mistakes in aqeedah such as denial of punishment in the grave. They have their own sort of fiqh for certain 'contentious' issues like the beard and music. And i didnt like it when they were critical of other Islamic groups striving for Islam, they strongly believed it is only their group who have correctly understood the Prophetic method for establishing Islam (maybe this last point only applies to the HT affiliates I encountered and not all of them).

Wa Aleykum el Salam,

And that's why no one should join any of these groups, they'll pretty much fight each other.

im not sure if the punishment of the grave thing is widespread in HT but i knew a HT sister some years back, this was before they were banned in the UK, she was asking me to hand out leaflets, i asked her about the punishment of the grave thing and she said there was a problem with the hadiths concerning punishment of the grave so that is why they don't accept them
Before they were banned in the UK?

And that was when?

HT does not take the punishment of the grave into aqida. They say that there is no decisive proof for this.
This is not true. Please substantiate with a reference.

They don't believe that Ahadith which are mutawatir in meaning are clear proof. They say these ahadith are doubtful. Not true.

From al-Shakhsiyyah al-Islamiyyah vol 1 (underlining emphasis mine):

Not true.
This is true.
Read my post again:

I have quoted from the official website of Hizbut Tahrir. Use google and type: ""What is the value of Al-Tawatur Al-Ma'anawi"

I think the link is not allowed here but you will get to the official website. So it is true.

As salam alaykum .

I had some contact with Hizb-ut-tahrir during my time at university.
positives;
-raise awareness of khilafah
-condemn and protest the killing and oppression of muslims whilst many are silent

negatives;
-I feel that some of the HT brothers have got their priorities wrong e.g more focus needs to be on raising iman and taqwa.
-some can be very lenient in acting upon shariah e.g. clean shaven
-aqeeda issues as mentioned by others.

The danger in joining any islamic group without sound knowledge is that one can easily fall into ghuloo (exaggeration) and ta'assub (bias/bigotry)
overall as with any other islamic group e.g Ikhwan al muslimeen, T.J e.t.c one should take from the good HT do and leave the bad. if they are doing something positive then inshallah co-operate whilst being cautious, aware of their mistakes and refraining from restricting the truth to 1 particular group.

What is the attitude of this HT towards usury based banking system ? Do they encourage its followers to do usury-based transactions ?

hmmm from what i have seen of them they are actively destroying secularism using a variety of highly effective methods. i saw taji mustafa's facebook profile and it had such beautiful material that totally tears apart secular theories of both secular muslims and non-muslims.sometimes he shared articles that werent written by hizb e tehrir lot.in sha Allah will incorporate some of them in my blog over time
