Assalamu 'Alaikum,

I just wanted to ask brothers and sisters to continue adding to my list of Gems and Stars in the UK:

Insha Allah I would like to collate as many scholars in the UK as possible and am planning on creating a nice page with their names, photo's and details in the near future insha Allah.

Walaikumsalaam

Alhamdulillah I have had the opportunity to meet alot of scholars and in the UK easily the most knowledgable scholar I feel is Hazrat Moulana Ayub Surti Saheb. Hazrat completed hifz in one month and I think he was also teaching bukhari and part of sahih muslim.

Shaykh Riyad ul Haq- Everyone should get his commentary on bukhari. If it was written in a book format I'm sure it could compete with fathul bari.

Mufti Shabbir Ahmed- Hadeeth teacher at Bury. Major shaykh

Mufti farooq from clapton teaches hadeeth at daruloom kent. Definitely a genius.

Maulana Saleem Nawab- An unknown gem who teaches tafsir and mishkat at kent. But the man has great knowledge of tafsir. He does tafsir after isha on fridays in london.

Where is Shaykh Ayyub based?

Maulana Ayub Saheb is based in both batley and leicester. I studied with maulana saheb and MashAllah he is a very capable teacher, especially in the higher books. He is the Khalifa of Maulana Abrar ul-haq (rahimahulla) and currently is the sheikh al-hadith in dar al-uloom leicester. whether he is the most knowledgeable scholar in the UK is a subjective judgement and reflects more on the person making the judgement rather than the one being judged.

There is a scholar in Oldham by the name of Maulana Fazl al-Rahim Saheb, he is the direct student of Mualana Husein Ahmad Madani (rahimahulla). Originally from NWFP he wanted to study in Deoband but had little means, and so undertook the journey on foot!!! MashAllah a really nice person with incredible akhlaq. May Allah preserve him. There is another student of Maulana Husein Ahmad madani in walsall, although I dont recall his name.

Aoa, does any one know about book written by hazrat ayub soorti, barkaate dua?
Where can i get copy of it and is it possible to speak to hazrat ji?

And tell us also after you talk to him and meet him. Kindly do not forget to ask about the activities of Majlis-e-Dawat-ul-Haq in his area.
