Default Why is it haram to kill yourself if everything in my life goes wrong?
I don't understand why is it haram to kill yourself if your life is full of difficulty and you have nothing. I don't get it if god wanted people to not want to wish that there life would end because of the difficulty they have then why doesn't god end the difficulty? Why do we have to suffer? So i suffer now with all my problems and when I want all my problems to go... I go to hell? I have one problem that comes into my life and then another comes into my life. I get pressure from my family and I have no future. I am trapped in this life and I can't even end it because then I'll go to hell and suffer more. Please explain to me how this makes sense.

Sister, it is as it says in the Quran 'No sould shall bare a burden more than it can bare'. This life is a test, trials and tribulations, so that you can work through them and get reward from your Lord

I advise you to listen to the following lecture by Shaykh Hamza Yusuf, called the seventeen benefits of tribulation

Things go wrong to a greater extent for some other people, situations we can't even think about yet they cling to life considering it part of their religion and life, yet some people wanna choose the 'easiest' solution ie the shortcut to hell.

May Allah make it easy

I will answer in short. Don't try to play "Heads I win, tails you lose" with Allah.

That was not what I was doing I am upset and your joking about it. It is a normal question why is it so that it is haram to kill yourself? That's all I want to know. I wouldn't play games with god, god knows what I have been through. I am not challenging what god has said I want to understand why.

Your life is not your property rather it is your trust that you are supposed to keep it safe, be upright in it, feed it well with spiritual food of worship. Because it is not yours, you can't end it just because you are suffering some difficulty in your life.

Everyone has their own trials and tribulations that are all difficult. However, Allah created us all with necessary power to overcome it, no matter how difficult the test is. And the suffering that anyone experiencing is just a moment, but we are making big deal out of it by bringing past and future to this single present moment which then overloads our strength of patience [Sabr]. In reality, your past is already gone and your future is not alive yet, then there is no point gathering everything to a single moment which increases your suffering immensely.

So, cool down; take the advantage of your sabr and use it toward any difficulty. After all it is a blessed test that if you pass you will gain lots of rewards and elevate your status.

Honestly, you girls can't even image how difficult the situation is for us boys especially in this day and age filled with images of haram everywhere. You can also compare yourself to those people who are suffering much more than you do. Many women in Iraq, or Palestine are passing through the most difficult tests of their life and yet they are in content with Allah's decree, so should you be.

Honestly you boys don't know how difficult the situation is for us girls especially in this day and age filled with men who are narrow minded who only care about what a woman looks like. Which causes a lot of todays societies problems. So really you should be blaming your fellow "men" for that and suck it up as basically you have been saying to me. I do charity work I know of those who are suffering I just wish god would help me. Because I am in a situation that is out of my hands. And if the situation is out of your control how can you just suck it up and continue the problem is not going away!

Anything I say will not do justice as I don't know what problems you have. However, everyone of us have test and trials which Allah sends to us to strenghten our resolve, to see whether we turn towards Him or whether we rebel against Him.

Please listen to the lectures in this link -> http://yunuspatel.co.za/audio-special-sabr.php

Also click my sig pic and read the book, it's only about 30 pages. I can say that this book has helped me like no other has.

Asalaamu alaikum sister,
I can understand that you feel you have no path left. I have been faced with many obstacles myself from when I was younger to a short while ago, now that I am older, that I literally have wanted to crawl in a hole and though hell would be better than the life I was living. However, upon strengthening my Imam...I have found that Allah (SWT) tests those He loves the most with terrible challenges. It may not be the religious aspect of it, but I see it as...all the challenges I conquer that Allah (SWT) gives me, the closer I am to being granted entrance into Jannah inshaAllah. I am sorry some people think you are a joke, but sister I feel your pain. Please try and keep your chin up as hard as it may be. Allah (SWT) loves you and there are many people out there who love you also. Yes, I will agree there are hypocrites everywhere and I am sorry they are making you feel like you have no option left. Please be strong sister. I will make dua'a for you.
Allah Hafiz.

Please read the link carefully. It should be of help. I don't know what crisis you are going through but may Allah guide you through it with your life, health and eemaan intact. Keep the Prophet's life in mind when faced with problems and Inshallah the help of Allah will come soon because Allah is near. WS.

Sorry to hear that you found some men as such. I gave that example to show that everyone has his own "suffering" in this life, but Allah created you and me with the power to overcome it. This fact is refereed in the last two verse of Suratul Baqarah.

Whatever the case is, Sabr is totally different than "suck it up". When you put trust in Allah, make proper tawakkul, go with it and make proper Sabr then your short life becomes a blessed one with lots of rewards which is the way to please Allah. Are we not living to please Allah not matter what? That's what Sabr is about.

Our beloved Prophet advised us that whenever we encounter any calamity in our life, we should think about His demise - which is the greatest calamity of all - then our suffering will fade away.

Thankyou you are very understanding. I just don't get that if someone is in pain why would god make you go in hell if the person died because they are in pain.

This is because this life isn't ours to waste; it is a gift from Allah . If someone is in pain, then this person should make sincere du'a and make every effort to change the condition they are in. If you help yourself, Allah will make the situation easier for you. Suicide defeats the point of having tests and tribulations in this life. The prophets alayhimus salaam sufferred unimaginable pains but they did not end their lives. Many prophets lived long lives, most of which were filled with rejection and torture, but they did not seek the easy path to hell but the path of juhd and struggle towards jannah.

There are millions of people who are sufferring in places of war and famine, but they choose to not end their life. Muslims in these situations have hope in Allah that He will make their situation easier for them. Allah will reward those who suffer a lot in this life but do not end their life because they have hope in Allah . We get rewarded for our sufferring; even a person who has a fever is getting constantly rewarded because of his sufferring.

My own belief on that statement right there in being a devout Muslimah...

With Allah (SWT) in your life, with His Mercy being granted upon you, with His love being placed upon you from the moment of your creation...there is no reason to want to die in pain. Also, there is no valid reason to be that depressed because of the glory of Allah (SWT). I know it is hard to understand sister because you are in a very difficult place right now and full of pain and a view of no way out. I was there, I have felt what you have sister. However, like I said...because I increased my Imam...I re-discovered the happiness and love that Allah (SWT) gives me everyday besides the hate from the modern world. I leave it all up to Him. Remember, the more you turn to Allah (SWT), because you need Him, the more you will realize that all of these hypocrites and slanderers and evil beings will not be granted the greatest reward of all, Jannah.
Allah Hafiz.
