Yes, I heard . I heard one of Shaykh Taha's debate a few years ago on Shi'ism.
Yes brother, I was a Salafi, then converted to Real Islam, Thank God for a light he provided to me through Imam Hussain (as).

According to the Shia Foundation SA website they have a Mosque in Phoenix, Durban. In total they count 16 centers in the country and the majority are in the rural, indigenous communities.

Shaykh Taha Karaan (HA) is in Pietermaritzburg today and tomorrow for a series of lectures on Shi'ism.

Who's talking about Salafis? Shaykh Taha Karaan is a Sunni Shafi'i scholar.

---Salamum_Alay-Kum Brother, I would like to write ALL ABOUT TRUE ISLAM, but you need to ask to brother who is running this web site, why he is afraid with me by stopping me to write articles on this site. Islam teaches us even to love your enemy, remember we can spread True Islam by becoming a role model not as a FANATIC.

Sigh...from one extreme to the other.
You said it - a giant leap of faith.
And disturbing at the same time.
We thought we knew the situation on the ground.
Salafis are quite energetic while dealing with the chosen people but how do you explain a Salafi turning into a chosen one?
Wassalam

Extreme? It's this forum that features threads about NIQABI women asking if it's permissible to put something in their mouths to sound less attractive to men. That's extremism.

Shiachat is nowhere even CLOSE to this.

Really?
Are you a Muslim?
Allah says in the Qur'an:

"O wives of the Prophet! You are not like any other women. If you keep your duty (to Allâh), then be not soft in speech, lest he in whose heart is a disease (of hypocrisy, or evil desire for adultery) should be moved with desire, but speak in an honourable manner."
Sura Ahzab, v.32.

Lest you start arguing about the command being for the Wives of the Prophet , let me for-stall you by inviting you to read the principles of tafsir.

Ibn Kathir commented on this verse thus: "As-Suddi and others said; this means, do not be gentle in speech when addressing men." Further, Ibn Zayd said: "Decent and honorable talk that is known to be good.'' This means that she should address non-Mahram men in a manner in which there is no softness, i.e., a woman should not address a non-Mahram man in the same way that she addresses her husband.

So the extremism that you are so worried about is actually wara' and taqwa, something that your Shi'i brethren know nothing about.
Next time on Shiachat, check out whether there is a discussion on group muta' and its jawaz and the Zaynabiyyah.
More details available from bro Tripoly Sunni.
Al salamu 'ala manittaba il hudaa.

The mods must have gotten sick of his braying.

"And be moderate in thy pace, and lower thy voice; for the harshest of sounds without doubt is the braying of the ass."
Sura Luqman v 19.

ASA,

How do you bring this forum into this matter? You take one example (your opinion of 'extreme' and out of context) and compare it with known deviant sects (Shiia is btw far more deviated than Salafiyyun.) Would you not consider it quite a jump/leap of faith from 'hater' of Shiia to 'lover' of Shiia? Understandable if someone came from OUTSIDE Islaam and joined aforementioned sects but to have such a change of heart INSIDE Islaam is a bit far fetching...(don't you think?)

I agree it's a leap of faith from Shia hater to Shia lover. It's impossible to deny they are opposites.
As far as my opinion of extremism, I think you'll agree most of the world would find putting something in your mouth while talking to be both unnatural, degrading to women, and therefore extreme. Extreme is whatever most of the world doesn't practice and in this case, this is an example of extremism.

^ If you reread that thread, most people were not advocating for such extreme actions. Indeed, most were against.

Most of the world does not practice Islam and most of the non Muslim world considers the idea of hijab as extreme. The Shariah is not judged by the people. Rather, the people are judged by the Shariah.
