Default Zam Zam Authentic
Someone was telling me that he heard some Turkish Imam on a Turkish TV station say that the Zam Zam of today is not Authentic.
Basically, it is Desalinizatied(sp?) water probably mixed with very little Zam Zam (if that). Has anyone heard anything something similar to this?

Br.,
I was trying to to gossip, may intention is to find out if other "imams" are out there preaching this? I don't know the "imams" name off-hand but I could find out who he is. I think it is destructive that someone is able to go on national TV and say such things and not have an impact. The person who told me this isn't really religious but he was adamant that this was happening. This "imam" may not like the Saudia's and wants to expose them. He claimed that he lived there for x number of years and he saw with his own eyes on where the water was coming from.

That the Zamzam water is mixed is established as I was told by the shuyukh in Hijaz.

Indeed, it's high time to pay attention to brother Qibla's suggestion.

This is not gossip, rather something that the ´ulama of the Haramayn are aware of and share with students of theirs. Them pumping in water from the outside into the well of Zamzam does not necessarily mean that it cannot rightly be called Zamzam water though.

And Allah knows best.

What do the `Ulema say about this practice?

As I understood it, they were not very favorable of it. When asked if the small traces of original zamzam that was left would make all of the water be considered "zamzam water", we were told to make our own ijtihad in the matter. The barakah of zamzam spreads, even if it is just a drop in a glass. So insha'Allah there should still be benefits of zamzam. Our Lord is a Merciful Lord.

And Allah knows best.

Strange!
And people from sub-continent brings big quantities and then drink it in small amounts for many months to come, for baraka, thinking ZamZam water does not expire.I don,t know,if it is a mixed one,it must be bad for health.

If anything, the arsenic content is probably lower in the diluted one...

Are you Muslim?

Anyways, the claims that Zam Zam water contains arsenic have been debunked multiple times as far as I know.

The flavour of Zam Zam has also changed so they are either diluting it more or it is a recent phenomenon. Just compare how Zam Zam tasted 10 years ago with how it tastes today. It is like drinking two different waters.

Hey people different strokes different folks. But for me ZamZam will always taste the same, no matter what you and the kuffar say.

There have been cases where bottled Zamzam that is sold across the world have had high levels of chemicals such as arsenic. Maybe they added that to get the Zamzam taste for their fake product.

People have to understand the importance and meaning of Barakah first.

The Prophet said:
" The most sublime of all earthly waters is that of zamzam;
therein one finds food for the hungry and medicine for the ill."

[ At- Tabarani ]

Now do anybody who calls oneself a Muslim doubt the above statement?

How many times did poison become medicine due to barakah, How many times Allah Ta'ala has made simple things to do miracles?

Arsenic or no arsenic, taste difference, toxicity etc etc. Whatever might be the outward findings. ZamZam is the best of all earthy waters. Period.

Brother,no Muslim doubts the baraka of zamZam.........if the water we are drinking is actually ZamZam,that is the whole issue.Otherwise we love and trust ZamZam without any doubt,Alhamdolillah.

Out of curiosity, how do Muslims reconcile the fact that everything blessed is located in Arabia? God sent this prophet to Arabia, speaking Arabic, praying to this Qibla in Arabia, traditional Arab medicine (hijama) is recommended, Arabian water (zamzam) is blessed, Hajj pilgrimage is to Arabia, etc. Certainly if the world is created by God and is so large, why isn't anything blessed located in, for example, South America or China? Why is the final religion so Arab-centric?

I am honeslty looking for an answer. I was very very close to saying my Shahadah (even started praying regularly before) but I backed out only because I couldn't get an answer to this question to my satisfaction.

Arabia is blessed because of Islam. If Arabia is devoid of Islam then it is devoid of all blessing. Allah's blessings is upon the believers be an Arab or Non-Arab
