I am absolutely appalled by the degrading way the Messenger of Islam (peace and blessings be upon him) was mentioned in a column published on the 9th of this month by Julian Baggini. If Baggini disagrees with Islam as a way of life or belief system, he can disagree without insulting the leader of nearly 2 billion people worldwide. It would also be useful if we could write to anyone associated with the Guardian from a business perspective. Perhaps they have sponsors who we can write to and ask them to convey condemnation to the editors or maybe we could write to the Board of Directors, etc. We can't let stuff like this slide

As for your ridiculous comparison with Mormonism, there isn't anything to show how Joseph Smith was a man of God. On the other hand, Rasoolullah himself was the best example of a man of God - both in words and actions. His companions were the best example of men of God - both in words and actions.

To add to this, the essayist was indeed advocating for a removal, per se, of those "mystical" aspects from various religions, specifically Buddhism. Therefore, those three scenarios he gave, including the one about our Prophet عليه الصلاة والسلام, are implied to be the actual case.
