aoa, ![]() Lol, ok I ll keep the reply short. As for the daleel, there are different classifications of bidah in shafi'i madhab, I do not know much. But Mawlid celebration is considered a bidah hassana (praiseworthy innovation). There is a fatwa of Imam Suyuti quoting Ibn Hajar Asqalani, in which he mentions Mawlid celebration is ok as long as it doesn't cross the boundaries of shariah. As for the shafi'i mawlid celebrations. There are lot of bayans conducted in this month. Today in the mosque after Fajr we recite abundant durood for about an hour in group. Then recite Yaseen and pray for everyone and for forgiveness of the dead. Also sadaqa was collected from the surrounding houses one week back for making lunch and distributing to the poor people today noon. Also there is a small 'march' conducted. Not much people go for it. I haven't gone for it. Only problem that can occur is during the 'march'. In my town its usually not much of a problem. But I have heard in some of the other towns some anti-social elements join the march and block the roads. Basically its all for the remembrance of our beloved Nabi ![]() |
