Default Idle chit chat and joking between members.....

I just want to say that we (including me) should stay away from the opposite sex as much as we can. Just because you can't PM someone from the opposite sex doesn't mean all is well and just because you are talking infront of the whole world doesn't make it Halal Either.

Idle chit chat and joking between sexes is as haram on SF as it is anywhere else. I just want to request people to stay away.

Just like one brother has started dreaming about SF trolls, one can also dream about members of the opposite gender.

And also, jazakAllah sister, JazakAllah brother is also in the grey area.

And dear brother, dear sister is also in the grey area.

... hazrat, you have raised an important point, the fact that this is a forum and not the real world can make us somewhat relax those rules that we generally follow in the world outside...however as you rightly pointed out, this is similar to talking to the opposite gender in real, and we must be vigilant of this (which we (that includes me) are often not).....May Allah keep make all of us maintain haya..

Hadhrat, you have raised a poignant point. Such interaction can lead to all sorts of shaitaani waswasah.

May Allah Ta'ala safeguard us and make us understand such naseehah.

wa rahmatullah,

Good reminder.

I suggest limiting the number of posts of each member, that way no un-useful posts or you can't post.

Great Idea.

The problem is that How many of us Mulla looking guys and Mullani looking sisters with hijab and niqab, would go and have idle chit chats with totally strange non mehram men in the real world?

No one from us would do it. We won't even say jazakAllah sister. But here, we think everything is allowed.

This goes for me too. I'm addressing myself first then others.

One example that comes to mind if the pet thread. Members discussing pets. Which necessity does it fall under that discussing pets with sisters would become allowed by Shariat?

Another thing ive noticed is when a sister asks a question, all the brothers RUN to answer her. But questions by men are neglected for days (sometimes).

Assalam-Alaikum:

I would only like to add one thing, if I may. If the intention of the writer is pure and blessed, the result will also Insha-Allah also be pure and blessed. I believe we have an internal compass to absorb any pure spiritual energy behind or surrounding the words on a subconscious level (even on the Internet). That is why, I believe, as much as possible to avoid fitna or misunderstanding, when we write, we should write for the sake of Allah, because that indescribable something in the people will avoid Insha-Allah the unsought result of what you have warned against herein.

If I have said anything that is good and true, it is from Allah; and anything other than that is my mistake.

As-Salāmu `Alaykum (السلام عليكم):

the strangest phenomenon is that our standards of
imposing the staunch and strictest rules on others
usually doesn't start with ourselves.

The online Mullah are usually in their early twenties,
not married (Half a faith),never attended a
madrassa مدرسة عامة, not involved in the
offline Islamic communities who actually need support.

The practicing Muslim who possesses Taqwa (Allah consciousness),
Iman (faith), and Ihsan this suggestion doesn't apply.

I was referencing your first post, Brother, not your second. To be honest, I am not even sure I know what thread you are referencing in your second post.

Thank you.

Assalam-Alaikum:

Sometimes, I may say something, and I feel that if even a chance that what I say can be misconstrued, then I must Insha-Allah try and clear any misunderstanding:

What I said in my first post applies in this thread applies and to the best of my knowledge is true, I don't want what I said to be used by anyone as an excuse to do that which Allah dislikes (even on the Internet). Please always remember that Satan is an open enemy to us, as Allah warns in the Quran (7:22).

No matter what level we might or might not have reached in practice or observation of deen, please understand that none of us can employ haram and expect a halal result.

Despite good intentions, if we do not have employ a constant self-check and observe the Shariat, Satan will open trap doors to us to allow us to disgrace ourselves before Allah. Remember the story of Barsisa (that should serve as an important lesson, though an extreme example). So, please, keep your words and actions for the sake of Allah, but do not forget to take into consideration human fallibility.

If I have said anything that is good and true, it is from Allah; and anything other than that is my own mistake.

i think it may look like all the brothers go running to reply to a sisters thread only because the male population on here seems to be a lot larger than female population, there only seems to be a handful of sisters posting, mostly because they have been scared away by the attitude of some of the guys

yup, thats perfectly true... there's so many sisters that are actually scared to post in the mains coz of the brothers! i think the females need to be more careful in this regards coz with lots of the brothers quite-very-impolite attitudes i think its highly impossible for any wrong thoughts go through the minds of the sisters.

I don't what the big issue is here. If a brother or a sister have a liking for one another, make it halal. I find it odd with all the scholars supervising the forum, something like this can't be arraged. I always support any avenue that makes the process of nikah halal.
Also why would sisters be escared off. In one minute, one is saying to be hypersensitive and the other treat them like they would treat any other brother.. Confusing!! We all know women are completely wired differently so they have to give us a benefit of doubt.
Allahualam
There's nothing weird about women. They are normal human beings. They are a little bit more sensitive than men and don't like confrontational stuff too much... nothing new there- you should all know that by now, living in the real world.

SF is not a marriage agency where you start conversation with a female, get to know her and then propose to her to make it halal. If that was the case, every place where free-mixing occurs could be made into a halal environment based on the outcome at the end. Do remember that most sisters here are married so if you do find your mind roaming, please get off the forum or let us know in the sensitive section and we will gladly give you a ban. Don't spoil it for others who use the forum as a means of dawah, advice, knowledge and resource for Islamic discussion and opinion.

And Maulana is leaving because Maulana is wasting alot of time on SF and neglecting his duties.

And Maulana thinks that Fitnah or no Fitnah, it is not write for sisters/brothers to address each other unnecessarily.

Have you ever noticed how most of the mods don't post much on SF.. Ever thought why? Maybe cause they themselves find it a waste of time

Yes the brothers should be more polite so that girls can open up and talk to them more.
