We are using this in our office.

Don't go for this. It has problem in speaker and USB port connection and requires servicing after few months.

Go for sony vaio with i3 processor which comes around same price (Rs. 26,000). If you want configuration details let me know.

Go for an Intel i3 with atleast 3gb of RAM, brands? Dell, Toshiba, Sony and Lenovo, NEVER EVER go for Indian brands like HCL or Wipro, why don't you try Amazon.com and bestbuy.com, even Tigerdirect.com, deals2buy.com, also don't go for AMD.

No need or else pay extra for shipping charges. You can ask for configuration changes in shops directly.

'coz you save a lot of money, compare the prices for ex. a Toshiba intel i3 based laptop (with 4gb ram, webcam, 15.6" screen with the bells & whistles) will cost $400, INR exchange rate for $1 is about rs.53, so laptop will cost rs.21,200/- in US, same in India will definitely cost you rs.27,000+, if the rupee exchange rate drops, there will be even more savings, the only disadvantage is if you get a laptop from the US, the warranty won't be applicable (except for Dell laptops as far as I know, I'm very sure) but if you are an adult and know everyday computing, there's hardly anything that can go wrong with them.

hmmm never know where the problem will occur when I might opt for servicing and I am not good in computers too. So it is better I dont take any risk buying online. Thanks for the help though.

In that case, definitely buy it locally, may I suggest go for a Dell Inspiron with Intel i3, 3gb + RAM, their service & buying experience is top notch, not to speak of the product itself.

Try these options:
1. Dell Inspiron, slightly expensive at under rs.27,000/-
Dell

2. Lenovo B series or G series, you can easily get it within 25k

3. Compaq Presario line is worth looking, again you'll get them within 25k, its from HP really.
