Default Praying with shafi/salafi at Asr

Following hanafi school, i follow hanafi timetable
however, sometimes at college there is a big jamaath at asr time for salafi/shafis, but asr time has not started for hanafis
i wanted to know is it allowed to pray asr according to shafi timetable? and what circumstances is it allowed? i could possibly wait till asr starts for hanafis and wait for someone for jamaath.
as i remember hearing ages ago that, if the number of shafis outnumber the hanafis, then it is okay to pray asr according to shafi time.

I really dont have a clue
someone help me out

If there is no way to have a jamaat when the Hanafi 'Asr time comes in, it is better to pray in jamaat with the Shafi'is and others during the earlier 'Asr time. The ulama are contacted about this issue by Hanafis in Saudi Arabia and elsewhere in the Arabian Gulf, where 'Asr is prayed before the Hanafi time and they say that it is better to pray in jamaat with the Saudis than to delay to the Hanafi time and pray alone.

Salam

is consistency at all an issue here?

for example if on my own i delay asr always to hanafi time and when with shafis (at uni) I pray at their time (technically there's leeway here in the hanafi school). is that allright?

or must one either stick to just hanafi or just shafi time and not switch between the two, keeping in mind that this might have an impact on Dhuhr time as well.

Usually I try to pray my Dhuhr before shafi asr time just to avoid the period of time when ther eis disagreement and then pray asr during hanafi time.

Is it permissible for me to perform Asr salaat at time when it commences according to Imaam Shafi'i ?

It is permissible for you to perform Asr Salaat according to the Shaafi'ee
Fiqh time.

"In Saudi Arabia the masajids follow the Shafie madhab. Shud I, being a hanafi, attend the Asr prayers at the masajid here (that are carried out at the early shafie time) or shud i pray the asr prayers at home after the time has commenced according to Hanafi madhab?"

It is permissible for the Hanafi to perform Asr Salaat during the Asr Shaafi'ee time.
