I beleive that you CAN read it without specific Ijaza from a Shaykh; nevertheless Ijaza is good!

1) However here is Mufti Nawaur-Rahman advising anyone to go to a scholar and get his/her Tajweed of Hizb corrected , i.e. no mention of Ijaza

I do know that we're allowed to recite it without permission, but I've had someone tell me that it's more powerful with ijaza.

Im not a murid of Shaykh Nuh but I emailed him some time ago and he gave me permission to recite the Hizb Al Bahr and also the Dalail Al Khayrat.

So if you are looking for a authentic genuine shaykh to gain ijazah from, Shaykh Nuh is good choice.

Has anyone got lectures on the tafseer of the hizb al bahr,meaning when do the shaykhs advise it to be prayed,the benefits etc.

I know shaykh Nuhs opinions on it which was very beneficial but was also looking for other shaykhs' comments on its benefits,times to be prayed etc etc.

I had one Tijani shaykh recommend reading it before fajr. The times mentioned in the awrad book Sheikh Nuh put out mentions the times of ishraq as being beneficial, after every salaat, and after asr. The most common being after asr. And he did a talk on some of the benefits and special dua you can do interspersed with the hizb al bahr, its available here http://www.thetraditionalpath.com/in...roducts_id=341
