some tax on this inner peace. Recently, the British govt has successfully tested a peace meter which can measure the degree of peace by sensing the spiritual light emanating from a zakir ( the man who does zikir ). So, the now govt wants to install those peace meters in zikr-centers where all those Tasawwuf activities are perfomed. By the way, I have never heard of Nakhsbandi dergah of Shaykh Abdul Baki ( DB) in London. I went many times to London and never met any Turkish mureed of that shaykh. All I know that there are mureeds of a Manchester based Pakistani nakhsbandi shaykh in London. Besides, in London you can also find many mureeds of a Cyprus based shaykh. |

By the way, I have never heard of Nakhsbandi dergah of Shaykh Abdul Baki ( DB) in London. I went many times to London and never met any Turkish mureed of that shaykh. All I know that We're all over the place, we just lie low for tax reasons =) Seriously, my Shaykh is very, very low-profile. People generally find him the old-fashioned way - through word of mouth, decades of seeking, or through a dream. Don't think I've ever met a mureed who "read about him on the internet". Zakir tax, eh - well, I guess they have to compensate for the zakir's dramatically low contribution to the local GDP somehow - no excessive consumption of any kind. And of course the most advanced zakirs don'T even use electricity - they use their hearts for lighting their way at night =) |

I mean, in this era of new-age sufism when people get deceived by the fake sufis who maintain attractive websites, the real sufis should be promoted properly to uphold a good image of Sufism. An website on the net is a good way of of promoting true Sufism. One such website is shown below. http://www.tasawwuf.org/ Anyway, I would like to visit this Nakhsbandi dergah of your shaykh in London. How can I get the address ? One more thing , have you read or seen any English biography of the following Nakhsbandi shyakhs ? Mevlana Halid-i Baghdadi ( RAH ) Mevlana Seyyid Abdullah Hakkari Seyyid Taha Hakkari Seyyid Sibgatullah Arvasi Abdurrahman Tahi Fethullah Verkanisi Muhammed Diyaeddin Nurshini Ahmed Haznevi Gavs Seyyid Abdulhakim Bilvanisi el-Huseyni Seyyid Muhammed Rashid el-Huseyni ( DB) who gave khilfat to Hazrat Abdul Baki (DB ) in Menzil. |

Its quite surprising as well as frustrating that your shaykh has mureeds from many countries , still he has no website in English. Ah, that's the challenge Joking aside, tasawwuf.org is one of my favorite websites and I recommend it on this forum frequently. It is exactly as the website of a Naqshiband Shaykh SHOULD be! I don't know why my own Shaykh has chosen not to have a website, by the way. The names you mentioned.... My husband has a huge book about them, or rather all the names in the Silsila of our tariqa. Unfortunately it's all in Turkish, and the kind of Turkish that would take me several days to translate a couple of chapters from (learned stuff). I only know anecdotes about them (especially about Gavsi Seyyid Abdulhakim al-Huseyni and Seyyid Muhammed Rashid al-Huseyni). I've scribbled a post-it and stuck it on my monitor; inshaAllah I can ask the sisters on Monday about any English-language version (I know a few who work at the publishing house). I'll also ask them about London contact details for the mureeds there, inshaAllah. |
