i have a karguzari which i heard from a respected man

well as usual where ever tabligh works, first they have to show the face to defence/military etc... http://discussworldissues.com/forums...on_redface.gif

the same was the case in turkey, the defence ministry was a bit worried about this work and they wanted to meet some elder. after mashvara they decided that some big people of arab are going to meet the defence

so a meeting was arranged and the arabs who came there were also some well known people.

when they arrived in the room the officers asked them to take their seats, on that the arabs sat down on floor. the turkish officers were astonished at that and they asked why r u sitting down

on that they replied " we have not come to take ur seats, we have come to spread deen "

seeing that officers were pleased with them

May Allah reward you all for your concerns and good intentions. Ameen

I think that the reason why an 'islamic' party got elected is because for some many years it was the 'non-islamic' ones ruling and Turkey kept going downhill but this time people wanted to see what these other people could do. And Alhamdolillah i hear from people back home that they've been progressing. For example, they tried really hard to get the 'hijab' to be allowed in unis. Personally the reason that i'm in Australia is because i could accomplish far more in terms of education than i could if i was in Turkey and i have Alhamdolilah. The proposal was accepted and students were allowed to wear the headscarfe for a while but it's all back to the beginning now, they are again not allowed.

As some of you have mentioned, yes most of the population are religious Alhamdolillah and try their best to stand up however it's mainly the youth that i'm concerned about. Brainwashed into believing that religion is now a thing of the past. We live in a modern world and that we should'nt be backwards and move on with time and be like 'them' because they're so free.

JazakhAllah

Just woke up this morning to the news of Bomb Blasts in Turkey

Man, what a horrible thread. Its been a few years since anyone wrote anything but, people shouldn't just satisfy their own egos when they see another Muslim country suffer. I wonder, since the rise of the Seljuk dynasty followed up with the Ottomans, has any other nation done anything at all for the Ummah in a vast level? And Mustafa Kemal wasn't the reason for the collapse of the Ottomans, it was nationalism which spread through the hearts of every local Amir, especially in the Arab lands today. The only other people that actually supported the Ottomans during the last years was the Muslims from the sub-continent and the Bosnian Muslims. None of the Arab leaders supported Abdulhamid when he was in power, they all wanted a piece of the land for themselves, which actually didn't happen and all of them were colonized for about quarter of a century. Plus, if it wasn't for the Seljuk dynasty and the Ottomans, Sunni Islam may have been extinct, so it is the choice of Allah(cc) that the Turks were the ones who preserved the sacred knowledge. It was again the Seljuk dynasties vezir, Nizamulmulk who actually established the curriculum of the Madrasahs that are still being used. And everyone knows many people that this Madrasah Nizamiyya contained, Imam Ghazali and Sultan Salahaddin Ayyubi are just two examples that should suffice.

Finally, according to many of the Mufassir, Surah Maeda, verse 54 talks about the Turks (the way the Turks becamse Muslims may be a proof of this), which says "O you who believe, if anyone from you turns back from his Faith, then Allah will bring a people whom He loves and who love Him, humble toward the believers, hard on the disbelievers, who fight in the way of Allah and are not afraid of the reproach of any critic. That is a grace of Allah. He confers it on whom He wills. Allah is All-Embracing, All-Knowing".

So stop bashing other nations and look at your own faults first, and question if you or your nation has or is doing anything at all for the Ummah.

We love turks but we hate Atakufr and secular turkish nationalists.

And you can replace any ethnicity of this world at the place of of "turks".

But a Muslim should condemn the evils of a person or of a people no matter what his links with them are: we're Muslims before anything else. Nationalism is haram.

I don't know if you are criticizing my thread here but, I wasn't trying to say that the Turks are special etc. like some crazy Muslim Turks do. I'm merely pointing to the fact that, the Muslim Ummah, and especially the Ahla Sunnah are in a very gharib state as it was actually told to us by the Prophet(saw), and it is nothing more than boosting ones own ego when somebody bashes some other nations religiousness.

Very true Hoja; may Allah protect all of us from both nationalism and bashing other nationalities, amin.
